With the emergence of online shopping in Nigeria today, and two main company taking the forefront dominating the Nigerian online shopping industry. Which is more reliable in terms of service delivery, shipment speed, wonderful call center, response to calls and e.mail as well as sorting out customers complains.

I will want us to share our personal experiences with both online shopping stores.

I have never patronised Jumia and I hope never to after the terrible experience I had with Konga. Its bye bye to online shopping. Thank God, my leg isn't too bad that I can't go to a shop to see, test and buy what I want.

I made an order on friday and got my stuff on tuesday in the south south. I think that is the only efficiency Konga has.

As for me, I am currently still having a terrible experience with konga (using them for the very first time.
I think Nigerian businesses have a really long way to go in customer satisfaction.

Jumia, in all honesty. It used to be Konga but I think they got many clients and began to feel on top of the world.

Jumia for now,is eager to sell,delivers promptly,tries to please while Konga especially since their yakata scam think they are doing you a favour. They give excuses ranging from "out of stock" to not "saying or doing anything" when you place an order.

Konga's latest modus operandi include:
Hoarding goods : they post items on their website,you click to buy,no way. You try and try to buy for days but no way,the system won't just let you place an order. One week later, the same dress is either out of stock or available only on XXXL size.

Out of stock: you place an order and everything is fine. You're cool expecting your stuff. They send you a confirmation email and SMS. 4 days,6 days, no show. 2 weeks later,they call to tell you that whatever you ordered is out of stock.

Ignoring customers totally- you place an order,everything looks cool but you will neither hear from them nor get any delivery.

I've moved on to Jumia and deal day. No time !

Btw- I buy practically everything online nowadays.

The reason why I haven't given my personal opinion is so that some people don't start screaming that I am a sponsored or paid agent for one against another.

I want as many people as possible to share their personal experience with both before I share a shocking experience I recently had.

I think they need to invest more in human capital development than or marketing and branding. 'cus your staff's treatment today's customers supercedes anything thing else in business.

I dont like konga's customer care officers/team. They act like uneducated people. They dont even understand the company's business. Anyway, I dont blame them cos most/all of them are ladies.

I professionalism is never about gender but rather it is caused by either the company lacking to give or spend money on proper staff training or the staff just decides not to implement the training knowing the management has no stiff punishment for defaulters.

I complained about the defective goods they sent to me. All the orders I made had individual defection. One Ruby Chuku who replied my mail where I politely made my complaint said they would get back to me. They never did. I am still cursing them, managing the ones I can manage and throwing away the one I can't. One thing is certain, they need to upgrade!

The ONLY training their customer center staff adhered to is the statement " we would get back to you" they keep uttering the words like robots without any positive result coming from them.

Jumia is more reliable. Konga shipments could take a week, That 1-3 days on their website is just another scam

You won't be the only one, it has taken a combined 16 days for the goods i ordered to be cancelled I have N12k stuck with them and I cannot get my cash back.

Never pay with your ATM pay Cash when they deliver, that is all i can say, and if they deliver late, tell them to take it back, Nigerians always pay loose attention to SERVICE

Online shopping? naija level high remember this bible phrase " be careful for nothing" me am very careful for nothing. I had a very bitter experience of late, so for anything shopping if I can go there with my legs then forget it no matter how cheap it is.

Things are ridiculously expensive on Jumia(and I thought they want to be like Amazon.com). But I've noticed that same stuffs on Konga are mostly cheaper. Though Jumia has got more products than Konga. I've not bought anything on.Konga before, but the only time I've ordered an item, they delivered it in 5 working days as promised. Both Jumia is a thief. I bought a laptop and they told me I only av three days to return it in case was not working properly . Yet, it took me two weeks to be able to configure the production software for which purpose I bought it. Wonder what they will tell me if after dat two weeks I Can't find the laptop useful and need to return it. I don't even think they give after sales service. You get after sales service from offline stores.

I haven't use any either, though, I was about to last-week friday, but, I went for dealdey which also gave free N1000 voucher to buy items on their site, if what I wish to buy is more than 1k, then, I can add money into my wallet, but, where I have problem with them (dealdey) is, some of their product is pickup (U shop, they send it to ur nearest location, i.e, am in Ikorodu, they ask me to go collect my order in Oshodi), they don't sometimes do shipment (delivery), but, their product are quality and affordable.

One horrible experience I have with Konga is, I window shop for a good and left it in my cart, only to go back there and found out; it was out of stock, this to me is wrong, any goods you place for sale on, should be available for as many days as ur marketing and publicity is wide, you don't market ur site to 1000 people and you just have 100 goods available, you must even be aspiring to have more than U market, cos, a customer may buy 10 and another 20 and more and more like that, but, this people and base on some comments made above isn't ready for business yet, they are just using us as sampling. Talk amazon, talk ebay, talk other online retailers, they are ready to give you more than the best. I rest my case!

I've been looking for the office of Jumia, but it's no where to be found, even on their site you won't find their shop address

I paid for something from konga for the past 3 weeks, but it's yet to be delivered

They are both thieves....

I made order for items from Jumia, since November up til now my goods have not been delivered. They gave maximum of 8 days, which has elapse. well, i am still writing and calling to deliver my items.
