Numbers 27

8 "Say to the Israelites, 'If a man dies and leaves no son, turn his inheritance over to his daughter.

Numbers 6

6 "If she marries after28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. [c] He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives. she makes a vow or after her lips utter a rash promise by which she obligates herself 7 and her husband hears about it but says nothing to her, then her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand. 8 But if her husband forbids her when he hears about it, he nullifies the vow that obligates her or the rash promise by which she obligates herself, and the LORD will release her.

Deut 22;

23 If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her, 24 you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death—the girl because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man's wife. You must purge the evil from among you.

28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. [c] He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

1 Corinthians 14

34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

1 Timothy 2

11A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. 13For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15But women[a] will be saved[b] through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

1 Corinthians 11
3Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 4Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is just as though her head were shaved. 6If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. 7A man ought not to cover his head,[b] since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. 8For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; 9neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head.

Leviticus 12:

1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 "Say to the Israelites: 'A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during her monthly period. 3 On the eighth day the boy is to be circumcised. 4 Then the woman must wait thirty-three days to be purified from her bleeding. She must not touch anything sacred or go to the sanctuary until the days of her purification are over. 5 If she gives birth to a daughter, for two weeks the woman will be unclean, as during her period. Then she must wait sixty-six days to be purified from her bleeding.

Matthew 5
31"It has been said, 'Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.'[f] 32But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

@Huxley,

You still ain't answered my question. That should be 'the Christian's problem' not yours. Go worry your head with other tactical approaches to lure people from Christianity cuz this one sure ain't none of it.
Re: The Bible "truth" About Women by GODLOVES1: 9:23pm On Jul 28, 2008
These verses are true, you are not telling the whole truth by just quoting them.
God has given the females the great blessing to be the one who bring Life into this world.

and what about all the good things that are sad about women? Proverbs 31:10-31 and other places in the Proverbs.
1.Corinthians 11:7 The woman is the glory of the man
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, Love your wives
Verse 28: So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies.

and some of the verses you quoted are to be done because someone sinned.

Deut 22: 23 and 28 speak of someone sinning

The reason that women are, according to the Bible, supposed to submit themselves to there husbands is because Eve was the one who gave the fruit to Adam.

Re: The Bible "truth" About Women by Lady2(f): 10:00pm On Jul 28, 2008
Huxley,

In order for you to understand those verses you quoted you must first know the difference in the Old Testament and the New Testament.
You must also know why today some of these laws don't apply in Christianity.

Christ said that we shouldn't divorce, when questioned about why divorce was allowed in the law of Moses, he said it was allowed because of the hardness of the man's heart.

These laws were set aside when Christ came because he came to restore things to their rightful order. Men are to love their wives and care for them even to the point of sacrificing themselves for them. Wives are to be supportive of her husband and love him in all conditions, stand by him even when the going gets tough and not ridicule him.

Even though God wants us to do all good and only good, he knows that we have minds of our own and we can make our own choices. He created humans and not robots. What the people wanted he gave them. Even though he is the creator he does not trample on our free will. It hurts him and breaks his heart when we don't stay true to him. But he shows us great mercy in all anyway when we are ready to turn to him.

It is like our parents. They raise us and we have a set of guidelines to live our lives by, but as we grow up we sometimes become stubborn trying to do things on our own without even seeking help form our parents. We chart our own course in life and set our own rules. Even though our parents think we are going in the wrong direction, they allow us to, because when they step in they know that they will only receive a rebellion from us. They know that we have our own minds and our own will so they let us be and agree to let us have things the way we want. In due time we will turn to them for help, for guidance.

That is how God is, that is also how he is the FATHER. Even though he would like us to do things his way, he knows that we would want to do it our way and so he lets us, and he watches us and just when we are about to fall flat on our faces we scream for help and he is there to help us. He is there to catch us and at that moment we realise that he has been right all along.

That is how the Old Testament is. God permitted the Jews to have it their way, he allowed things to be done because he knows that only when they fall will they learn. When they had been through just about everything, sufferring oppression for centuries from foreign rulers, God sent help, the savior. He sent a redeemer to show them the way out of the bondage that they have put themselves in because of the hardness of their hearts. But only those who recognized that they had truly fallen and have been stubborn and that God had sent a redeemer were able to know who the redeemer is. The rest were too proud and arrogant.

Women are not being punished by God by asking them to be in submission to men because Eve gave the fruit to Adam.
Women were created as helpers and as a mate for the man. Not the other way round. Because women are tender and softer than men, men are supposed to be the protectors of women. Women are not supposed to be abandoned by the men. Men are supposed to understand the nature of the woman and cater to her needs. While the woman is to understand the man and stand by him and support him.

They are each other's helpmate.

Javalove, isn't the quran the book that says men should beat their wives?
Your hypocrisy stinks everywhere.

MC Usman, don't let me share the teachings of the quran on women, if taken literally it is worse. But I am sure that there's an explanation of it and that it shouldn't be taken literally but the Bible should be taken literally, the stench of hypocrisy from muslims is too strong to bear.

"Eve gave Adam the apple", what point where you trying to put across there??

I think you got it twisted. This is what the bible said; MAN WAS NOT CREATED FOR THE WOMAN, BUT WOMAN FOR MAN. Which means a woman's only purpose in life is to serve a man. Not my word, Its in the bible.

O.K

Sweetheart, let me go with your old testament, new testament excuse.

Matthew 5:17 ¶ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

So this means that even the old testament laws still holds.

That aside, If you look closely at the highlighted portion of my extract from huxleys post, you'll see that all those scriptures all come from the new testament.

The Bible tells us that the man and the women are one when thy get married, one flesh. The Man is to respect the woman and the woman is to respect the man. thy should both look to God for guidance,
Sure the Bible has rules as to what Christian women should act. But God gives the Man the Great responsibility to
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, Love your wives
Verse 28: So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies.
To Love and to take care of the as thy would there own Bodies.

Also the women is very important the man
1.Corinthians 11:7 The woman is the glory of the man
No wive, no glory, got it
women have a different job then man, and that is what the Bible tells us. In those verses

The Bible Tells us that the woman was cursed because she was the one who gave the fruit to Adam. That is why she is the one who must go thru the pain of child birth, but that which was is her curse is also her blessing, the woman brings life into this world. The man is nothing without his Helper( the woman). God has given the woman great blessing, it easy to be a boss, but to be a servant now that takes work.
