Should He Pay 10% Of His Tithe Or Less? by youthmustwork: 9:33am On Dec 08, 2013
I was in church this morning when I heard my pastor preaching about tithe.
From the teaching, I heard him saying" give 10 percent of your income to God.

Last week my elder brother purchase goods of seventy five million naira(N75,000000) from a chinese company here in imo, he made gain of (N10,000000)ten million naira.

10% percent of the said amount is(1,000000) one million naira.
What am asking is that," is he expected to offer one million naira as tithe to the church !!!.

My fellow nairalanders do you think the church has being unfair to her congregations or my brother is the one unfair to God?

whatever is worth doing is worth doing well....its either he pays d 10 percent or he forgets about paying d tithe @ all...from ur post d problem is d amount involved n not that u guys don't believe in payin tithe.....No amount of money is 2 big 2 b paid as tithe....Don't forget that God is not a begger....he specified one tenth and not just some random amount.Rememba that evrytin in life is vanity n can b gone in a split second n 2 answer ur question about unfairness....Tithin is a biblical principle not a church doctrine..as regards ur bro....u already know d answer 2 that question .God bless u

As a christian he is not supposed to tithe in the first instance and even the biblical tithes directed to the Jews in the bible was neither money nor based on income. Modern day tithing is derived from fraudulently manipulating scriptures to extort money from believers on a consistent basis.

What i still can't factor into this tithe debate is..if salvation is free, why does God insist on10% of your income? Defies logic
