AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL YOUNG PEOPLE 09/12/13

My dear young people,

Let us turn our gaze to what St. Paul says to the Thessalonians, in his first letter: "test all things; hold fast to what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it" (1 Thess. 5:21-24).

Do not be afraid when temptations come. Do not get scared when your emotions seem to overwhelm you. Do not despair when it seems you are alone in the Christian struggle. Listen to what St. Paul says to you, yes! YOU, in his first letter to the Corinthians: "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Cor. 10:13).

Keep up the struggle. You are not alone. You will never be.
