A brother in my school said his siblings who had not been matured christain went to a church and the pastor was teaching them how to speak in tongues ..... You don't get trained on how to speak in tongues,you receive the infilling of the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues is one of the evidences. |

It is very wrong. Speaking in tongues is one of the gifts the Holy Spirit gives to one when you receive it, Act2V4. It is not compulsory for everyone to have it. 1cor 12V29-30. When you try to teach someone how to speak in tongues, you are directly or indirectly saying the Holy Spirit is no longer capable of possessing that person and bestowing that gift on him. It is a big insult to the Holy Spirit and every true child of God should desist from that. |

Well correct me if I am wrong, but... 1. I didn't see anybody teaching the apostles in the upper room how to speak in tongues - it spontaneously occurred when the Holy Spirit came upon them... 2. I haven't read anywhere in the new testament where the apostles "taught" anyone how to speak in tongues. The bible always recorded that "they prayed for them, laying hands upon them and the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spake in new tongues"... 3. The apostles wrote a lot of letters to a lot of new churches. I didn't read anywhere where they were advised to hold tutorial classes on speaking in tongues... 4. The apostles were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write on everything from marriage to evangelism to church etiquette, but never on teaching people how to speak in tongues. I think if the Holy Spirit wanted it that way, he would have inspired them to do that too... I believe speaking in tongues today should still take place today the way it did those days - spontaneously on the baptism of the Holy Ghost. My two cents. 1 Like |

This speaking in tongue palava don tire me sef.. One of the reasons I will contemplate changing fellowship. They tell you to speak in tongues after one wuruwuru prayer session, saying you should speak it out of faith and God help you u don't na ya head the whole CEC go dey pray on believing u dey possess or of little or no faith. Now what gets me wondering is that most ladies tend to speak in tongues after this session while the guys don't after been told to speak it out of faith i.e whatever gibberish you can produce speak it while holding it in good faith of speaking spirit inspired tongues . Moreso if they can use that faith to believe they are speaking in heavenly tongues then why do they find it difficult to use the same faith to manifest the gifts of interpretation, healing, revelation etc on a generalised level. I believe the gift has been widely abused, the holy spirit gives to us as he deems necessary and not everyone. At least na Wetin the bible talk be dat. 1 corinthians 12: 4-11 |

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the swift fellowship of the Holyspirit be with us all. The presence of the Holyspirit causes speaking in tongues(It means either to deliever a message through you including interpretation or to help you interced in prayer). It remains permanent at constant fellowship with Him. So any denomination that is forcing you to speak in tongue when you know that Holyspirit is not present with you pls R.U.N |

Na today!!! I had a friend that was told to kneel down and speak in tongues on an open field during a church program...due to frustration and the harsh hot sun knacking my guy apkako on his head, my friend said he started to speak in tongues as they wanted so that they can release him from punishment..since that day, he ran away from the church..#End time thingz  |
