Even before this report I have always said I would rather go abroad, I mean the UK, Canada or the US if I decide I want to school outside of Nigeria, Ghana will never factor in my consideration.

Majority of the Nigerians you find in Ghanaian Universities are failed student who have been delt a rough blow by JAMB, many of them are either under agers that don't want to write JAMB or serial Jmbites that are in a haste to be called undergrads.

The only African universities worthy of mention are the ones in SA.....Ghana is not even in the picture for me.

Elxandre: Well the fact is some of these private schools are standard, but many are not really impressive.

I can speak for wisconsin International university college, Accra (At least up to 2012). Trust me, that school aint substandard in any way. The grades are really high, even higher than many Nigerian universities. Many Lazy students run away after many carry overs and grade D(s) cheesy (they run to the likes of sikkim manipal tongue ).

Schools like All Nations University, Koforidua, have insanely high standards too, (when 90/100 is Grade A, you know its not funny.). Ashesi University college is superb too (probably the best private Uni in GH and one of the best in Africa), and is highly ranked even in Africa!

If you are sending your child to GH, these schools are some of the best there!

All these being said, I loathe the likes of sikkim manipal, I remember passing by the school and not knowing any Uni was there. undecided (though structures doesnt really determine Quality of Education).

One thing to note is these schools mostly have few departments, so the size may have neglible effect on overall quality afterall.

Seems you don't understand the environment is just as important.

I doubt they use ordinary projectors in the school?

Nothing u say justifies schooling in containers.

Though some of the school buildings are not really impressive...they teach well,i will just advise the schools to enlarge their coast. The journalist should have entered a lecture room when lecture is going on....and atleast prove to people that they are teaching well.

attract a lot of Nigerians.
If you want quality education, pay quality tuition and you will get quality education.
AIT is cheap... Much like a community college

Do you know how much I pay in OAU? My secondary school is way better and I'm sure more equipped than this nonsense. Pls, you can never justify this, I do not think parents sending their children to such school do not realize, they are studying in containers or as suggested by people they have failed Jamb severally or couldn't get into cheap, high standard Nigerian universities like OAU, UI, and the likes.

I paid about N30000 - N35000 ($190 - $225) as a new student (even though the fees had just been increased by N18000 that year alone), since then my fees have been averaging N5000 - N7000 ($32 - $45).

I'm pretty sure the quality of education is better over here, its evident in the two societies today.

360command: This universities or colleges are small in structure, but I would give credit to the Nigerian student who studied or are studying in ghana for using their brain to go through the university unlike in Nigeria, we know the system and we(most nigerians) went through a system of malpractices. Had friends who studied in Ghana and they did not see it easy. Bribing lectures was not easy even if it is, its big money. Exam malpractice is not so rampant unlike the nigerian universities. Truth is bitter and I have said my mind.

Could you be logical and empirical rather than making petty unfounded accusations?

Who is asking a nigerian to come to Ghana and study? What do you expect from a colony of MUMUs? All they do is bad mouth others, as if that will make their pitiable situation any better.

there no other country in the world that boasts of mushroom universities like nigeria. check this out.https://www.nairaland.com/1292099/nuc-names-41-illegal-universities

In nigeria, anyone can start a university and start admitting students, collecting fees and awarding degrees and certificates. Even native doctors can open universities and enroll thousands of students grin www.nairaland.com/1431248/native-doctor-opens-fake-university

There are many speculative reasons why Nigerians go to school in Ghana. It could be the tuition is considerably low than in Nigeria's universities. There maybe no much striking action that is a usual occurrence in the country and many other non-facility related factors. You are obviously thinking the reason is for the facilities, which I think Nigerian universities look better than those of Ghanaian universities.

Please, your universities facilities are overrated!

You are beginning to sound like a complete ediot. Ghanaian schools were established primarily for Ghanaians, so what the fvck is your problem? Are Ghanaian universities competing against nigerian universities? And who ‘overrated’ Ghanaian universities? A MUMU reporter from MUMUDOM?

If you want to go and study outside your country won’t you conduct an independent assessment before enrolling? And how sure are you that the report was even accurate?
during Obasanjo’s rule, a reporter from Punch sat down at home and drew his own questionnaire for Obasanjo. Again he sat down at home, and provided his own answers to the questionnaire and got the report published as an authentic interview with Obasanjo. So what guarantee is there that the report you are all reacting to so strongly was authentic and that the so-called journalist did not collect money for a trip to Ghana, and go and sit somewhere in Bama or Abeokuta to write that crap? Did the report make sense to you? Is it possible to have a university occupy a portakabin? Where is the photo to confirm the report? In Ghana, there are many private universities. the system is structured in a way that every university is restricted to the number of courses it can handle within the context of the facilities available. The ultimate decision to enroll or not to enroll depends on you the individual. This is not rocket science, or is it?
You said Ghanaian universities are overrated, by who? We don’t really give a fvck about you nigerians, huh? Stay back in your country and leave us alone, huh? At least by reducing the number of nigerian students in Ghana we will also be reducing the number of armed robbers, pr0stitutes and cultists.
