What place to they hold in Nigeria as far as economics and politics are concerned? Are they friendly like Igbo people? |

Mambofiend: What place to they hold in Nigeria as far as economics and politics are concerned? Are they friendly like Igbo people? They are a minority tribe in Nigeria, a sub-clan of the Ijaw people. They are found mostly in one state out of Nigeria's 36 states and that is Rivers state. They are a riverine people, ie, they live close to rivers and the atlantic ocean. By virtue of their closeness to the sea, some of them are fishermen and women. They speak the Kalabari language and some speak Igbo as a second language, because of their closeness to Igbo-speaking people. They are a friendly people. Being a minority people, they hold little or no sway in Nigeria's political affairs. |
