As we all know, many of us are on different Social Networks either Facebook, Twitter, 2go, Whatsapp e.t.c. In our Idle mode, we hate typing complete words and this brings about typing In short form. Words like kk, brb, , lmao, lol, d, lwkmd e.t.c. I remember vididly that during my waec on english language day, i was writing "d", instead of "the", many of my class mate answer sheets were coloured because of the mistakes they made with the Short forms. As the Short form also affected You? |

I abhor extreme abbreviations! I see it as a sign of immaturity and irresponsibility. I RARELY use it, unless my phone has a low battery or I'm typing in Pidgin. While marking my students scripts few weeks ago, I came across cringeworthy abbreviations. I had to deduct over 30% of the total score from the affected scripts. People should be patient enough to write/type words fully. 1 Like |

I'm not a fan of abbreviations, not with the advent of QWERTY keys anyway. And it helps greatly by mastery.. Cheap mistakes like 'am instead of I am or I'm'... 'Its instead of It is or It's' and their like are avoided. |
