There is no need changing to Carburetor because the can performance is made to specification which include Auto transmission.
From experience car fuel consumption is influenced by the following-
-The tyre pressure gauge level(it should be specified at the manual or the rear door)
-Level of transmission fluid
-Blockage of the the injector(fuel channel)
-Your driving habit
-City driving or highway
