Depends a lot on traffic for the day.
I would advise that a prospective driver listens to traffic reports every other hour on radio to avoid jam packed areas.
I know that some of those taxi guys make an average pay but they blow it all up on eran-igbe and shekpe.

Today, to avoid taking a bike, I walked from Awolowo road to my office in Osbourne Foreshore. Imagine limping all that way? It wasnt funny!
I woulda taken a taxi but the estate is restricted to taxis.

Thats another problem with taxis, a lot of high brow areas are becoming restricted but I guess that wouldnt concern the driver? Drop you at the gate and zoom off eh?

Ikeja ,Airport hotel to falomo Ikoyi=4500
April 14 election day-Ikeja,airport hotel to MM airport = 3k

If you are looking to invest in the Lagos Taxi project. I suggest you take a ride with a Random sample of Taxi drivers and have a nice chat about their challenges i.e. Cost of operations; Routes; No Go Areas etc.  the Elderly ones in VW Golf taxi are quite chatty and will reveal old war stories to you.

Its a good way to know their operations 1st hand

i suggest you go for the private taxi option,its more profitable plus yours will be able to drive into restricted areas like estates e.t.c
took one of them from my house near sheraton hotel to muritala mohammed airport to wait for only 1 hr plus and take me back finish and they collected 5,000, painted taxis charge considerably less i think, thats my opinion though im not current seeing as i dont live in lagos

What the drivers make from fares and what is deliverable to the owners are two separate things. 'Deliver money' _{to use their terms} is negotiated upfront and is is usually based on industry average. Can be as low as N2,000 per day for 14 seater bus for intra-lagos transit bus. The driver is responsible for fueling and very minor repairs. Major repairs are borne by the owners. The simple fact is that if you are not the one driving it yourself, the driver will benefit more. He may make the whole day deliverables on just one trip.
