i've been wondering of late why pagan beliefs are dismissed or unaccepted in our society (which ironically, it's our default way of life). I think a pantheon of Gods makes much more sense logically and could be easier to use for explaining the state of the world.
When you have a pantheon, you get lots of little gods, all responsible for their specialist areas, take the Yoruba belief for instance. Gods in a pantheon don't have to be omnipotent or omni-anything. Gods in a pantheon have natural limits, and with different characteristics - good and bad gods, lazy gods, greedy gods, etc.. unlike the monotheistic
deities that have to be omni-omni.

when you only have one god, he has to be responsible for EVERYTHING. He has to create the universe, worry about our
morals, provide a pleasing place to go after we die, but worst of all he has to be responsible for bad things (which some dont accept) as well as good things, and you end up with the 'problem of evil'.
It is hard to make a monotheist god logically consistent, e.g can he make a stone he can't lift? Or physical elements he cant control?

Modern day monotheists usually scoff at how ridiculous pagan beliefs are compared to theirs, but I can't understand why.
Any theist or pagan want to weigh in?

Good ANalysis Dk Jaleel.

The point is that monotheism is the more obvious way of thinking or conceptualizing God.

Yet why is is that all our World Ancestors sought after Polytheism Its because THAT is the truth.

Before Judaism, the entire World was Polytheistic.

Spirituality is infinite. How can you limit it to one God

The Gods are infinite. We humans worship those Gods that affect us or we are aware of.

The common ones being the Creator, Fertility, etc.

To limit the Spiritual Forces to one entity wouldn't make sense.
