This video capturing the real estate properties of the Jonathans i.e President Goodluck Jonathan – current president of the federal republic of Nigeria – and the first lady, Patience, is courtesy of SAHARA REPORTERS TV and cannot be verified by us as fact.

The images you see in the video appear to have been taken surreptitiously by the journalist covering for Sahara TV. You get to see the massive billion naira hotel – “Alidorf Resort” – allegedly belonging to the first lady still under construction. And the home of the President in his native Bayelsa state under heavy military guard. They wouldn’t have taken too kindly to a journalist filming their turf.

Update: Due to the observation by Raggedy Ann, I would like to state once again that... The video above cannot be verified by us as fact. It is only an allegation by Sahara TV until proven to be true. The sole reason for publishing this is to seek the public's assistance in verifying or countering the claim made by Sahara TV.

If it hasn't been verified as a fact what is the point of this? It only demonstrates that people are willing to run with baseless allegations and half-truths to portray this government in poor light. Do you not fear that you may loose credibility if your allegations keep being refuted by concrete facts? APC keeps underestimating the people.

If it is not published and made public by people who are ready to admit it is NOT fact, how does it get refuted?

Sahara TV has the video on youtube and it's getting lots of views with many gullible Nigerians out there who will watch the video and accept it as fact. At least, this gives the Jonathans and their camp a means of countering the accusation by Sahara TV if it is indeed untrue.

Most already know Sahara is unreliable so it doesn't matter what you think about them at this stage.

The hotel in question belongs to jonathan's wife. U don't need any proof. Just come to yenagoa here and ask anybody, and I mean anybody. Its not a hidden fact. She doesn't even hide it. If u can, ask her too nd she will boast of the ownership

Are you for real? Do you live in Yenagoa?

I saw the video on youtube and felt it had an element of truth to it considering the way the camera was shaking in the hands of the journalist like he was on a dangerous mission. It's just that one cannot be too sure. I am unable to come to Bayelsa myself so I hope people from the state can let us know what our current President and his family truly own in their backyard.

I reside in yenagoa, very close to jonathan's residential house in yenagoa. Its heavily guarded nd so cannot take any clips. D street on which his compound is located has been blocked on both ends ever since he became presido nd dat place is ore than heavily guarded. So u dare not try taking any photo shots. I have not been to his village otuoke, so I can't say anything bout d so called country home estate. But as for d hotel, just ask anyone in yenagoa d owner of d new hotel beside bolex carwash okaka on d express nd get d response. The residential building in yenagoa is massive but guy he is d president. A wealthy businessman can build dat. But d hotel is way too out of line. Dat is just evidence of stolen wealth

Whether stolen or not, investing massively in Bayelsa is a good thing in my own law which is "if you invest 100% of your stolen wealth in exact same place it was stolen from, then it is no longer stolen but illegitimate investment" . Such a person can go tojail for a short period of time but his investments will not be confiscated. If all Nigerian past leaders invested their loot in Nigeria, then we would have been more advanced than Dubai.

in as much as its all wrong and evidence of stolen common wealth, i implore you to mention any past modern day Nigerian President that has less!... why did he not start from OBJ's hill top mansion, dont forget that it was said that the said OBJ came out of prison with about N20,000.

Well, I dnt pity nigerians. We deserve d leaders we get. So becos he is investing in bayelsa or nigeria as d case may be, he shud steal and loot. So cos obj, ibb nd former leaders looted, all other successors shud loot. We really deserve wat we get. Corruption is bad irrespective of wat the proceeds are used for.

Yes it is bad and you can notice where I suggested short term imprisonment for those who invest their loot in Nigeria. I also suggest death penalty for those who invest their loot outside Nigeria.

My broda, dis ur suggestion is bad gan. Its encouraging looting. Can't believe u wud want such soft landing for looters who invest within. Do u kn dat dat loot he used in building dat hotel cud have been used to reconstruct a bad road which may be claiming lives. It cud av been used to build world class hospital for d masses. It cud av been used to build reputable industry dat will contribute to productivity nd provide employment. Yet he/she diverted common wealth nd u guys give him/her a pat on d back for investing within. Whether within or outside investement with looted wealth, looter shud be adequately punished

Who exactly does the hotel investment benefit? That hotel is not for the masses. I imagine you have to pay top dollar for a room there.

How much is real estate in bayelsa?

The property being highlighted all over nl is not even in lagos, ph or abuja.

Its quite possible the cost of building is significantly less than would have obtained in other areas, including overseas, not to mention there is no evidence who the actual owners are.

Our leaders are really "Primitive looters" I bet if u look around d area were dat multi billion hotel is located it looks like were animals live and d road is really bad, with very few hours of light and zero beautiful attractions. Its really sad. I give it another few years d hotel will crumble and it will become another rotten building gotten from stolen money.

Once u hate somebody even his goodwill wil b seen by u as d genesis of a laid down conspiracy.
For dat kinda project 2b goin on at dis time wen he knws dat d oppositons is breathing heavily down his throat, den he must ve his defence line well fortified. U guys shud face it, cudnt he afford dat project witout being d president? Do u knw hw many income source he has & hw much he stackd up b4 being elected?
As for a guided street u guys shud knw beta dan pointing fingers at norms. Can u even access ur governor's street? Dia cud b sudden attacks on his home & surrounding houses by virtue of his only emerging d president in a country wia we practice 'do-or-die' politics. Pls b informed dat am not anyway in support of political looting of any sort irrespective of wia it's being invested but i cant help but suspect cook-ups & manipulation by doz in desperate need of assuming d reigns especially now dat many journalists & press houses are being mandated 2 report only d ills of d govt & even cook-up stories wen d ills are in short supply.
There's been so much desperacy & maligning shown by doz who cant manage d lot he has even in double d time he has held sway.
Wen d press in s/africa found out about zuma's apparent misappropriation, dey defied all odds (includin an army regiment keeping) 2 make sure d pictures & developments reached d nooks & cranny of d country.
If dis were 2 b a verified news 4rm who-so-ever trusted or not, d anti-GEJs would ve used dis as sermon &newspaper headlines until God knws wen. Had we a well-stocked & competitive investigative anti graft agency, den perhaps rumour peddlers & doz who expect a total revolutn of a near failed state in about 3yrs would tink twice about leaked unconfirmed reports. We d bourgeois & less should b careful not 2 buy caps worth our heads simply because its a sunny day.
