Does anyone have an idea of what marketing for a TV station entails. I recently got a job there and I need to know what to expect. Are you required to hit the streets looking for advertisers or do they come to you?

If you've ever bought a programme slot or placed adverts how did you go about it

Your job is getting clients so basically you go out to meet ppl, offices, business places, malls et all to get ppl to come advertise their products and services.
Get ready to meet more ppl missy
Its fun actually bt if u the type that gets so irritated when u have too many men on u, u might jst wake up one mornin and forget the job.
Some clients will actually think they doin u a favour, even when they know it helps there organisation.

Yea, this made a lot of sense. I actually swore off marketing after the last one I did but I'm kinda looking forward to this. Thanks for the explanation. Its not too different from what I imagined it would be. Just thought by a strole of miracle I wouldn't have to go out and the clients would make my job easy by them ALL coming in . Guess there's no such luck

Things are easier in our days now
Mails, calls, msgs
They all do magic, go online, search for companies, get email addy and every other info
Send mails, proposals, offer cheap prices, mk them sense ur company got viewers n listeners, assure them turnovers after the adverts.
Companies can like to hear/read positive things
They also want examples
U know its all competition.
But they always wanna meet with u and some respectful, some randy, some silly
Its ur job, u know how to discard
