I was at the supermarket the other day and I saw a magazine with the title ''HOW TO SETUP AN ONLINE BUSINESS 2014''. Being someone that is so passionate about online business, I grabbed the magazine not minding how much it would cost me. It was not until I got to the cashier that I realized how much it cost but I bought it anyway.

I have decided to share some of the stuffs I am getting from the magazine on NairaLand. Who knows it may help someone start his/her online business in 2014. There are a lot of stuff in there (PLANNING, BUILDING AND MARKETING) but I will try my best to share as frequently as possible. I welcome you to join me on this journey of knowledge sharing as I start with, 'Why an Internet Business?'

Why an Internet Business?

Low startup costs - You can think of an online business idea today and you are up and running tomorrow.
Long opening hours - On the internet there are no closing hours for shops. As long as your servers are up and running, you are open 24/7, 365 days.
Testing - It is easy to test various ideas and see what is working or not.
Scale - Internet businesses are flexible - you can be running an internet business while still maintaining a 9 - 5 job.
Competing with the big boys
- If you have a well designed website, you can compete with the leaders in your chosen industry.
Reach - It allows you to go beyond a geographical location, thereby allowing you to reach millions of people.

Just as it is easy for you to start an online business, so it is easy for anyone to start as well. The major challenge internet businesses face is in the area of competition. Once people see you are succeeding, everybody wants to do what you are doing. To checkmate this disadvantage, you need to have the 'first mover advantage' mentality and stay ahead of the game.

The best way to start up an online based Biz is to start a content based biz otherwise known as information marketing..with info marketing the sky is the limit...

What do you have interest in? A way to start an online business is around your interests, passion, strength, skills, experience.

The question that I would rather you ask yourself is 'how can I turn this into an online business?'

I just need a sincere relationship or probably someone I can call my online dad.i won't mind doing anything for this person even if it requires paying later on.Jus so tired of no direction

I'm an undergraduate in an institution and I'm a little bit familiar with some ways of making few bucks online but i don't have a close pal to disclose that with.
Unfortunately the only friend I have that is into online biz(PayPal stuff) refused to let me in.
Il just be happy if i can get a close contact with someone on here to discuss and solve problems together.

I stupidly paid for one fiverr jackpot system stuff by lakefist here on nairaland (search lakefist) of which the stuff he taught could only drive just two sales on fiverr and nothing more after then.

It wouldn't be nice if the above niches is been blacklisted in this thread.

Online biz is versatile and shouldn't be centered on one niche.

Mind you that no business is easy, it all depends on your mindset when venturing into the business.

Note: Info marketing is one of the easiest if you "know how to".

Play it smart, not safe.

I am also into kindle direct publishing, the money is not much but it's generating a few $. That is one way of info marketing.
