Lol you this D1 sef @montelik That's what I read in the Bond history books.Perhaps Lazenby had another version to tell. Why would anyone believe that the biggest franchise in the world at that time had no future?If being the biggest franchise wasn't a future, then what qualified as a future?If he really believed the Bond franchise had no future his name should be the dictionary definition of stupidity.Even if Lazenby opted out, why would the studio do itself great harm by not marketing or promoting the movie? They bankrolled it and it would run contrary to their interests to not promote it and recoup their investment. I have all the Bond movies and might take a look at OHMSS.I've never managed to finish a Dalton Bond movie. He has the most terrible supporting cast. There was one where his friend got married and the bride and groom were killed, etc. The rest of the cast were so awful I couldn't stand it after 30 minutes. Moore is, without doubt, the worst Bond. Some of his outings were good,like The Spy Who Loved Me, but kudos for those go to the scriptwriter and director and good supporting cast. I grew up watching him as Bond but Fleming must've turned in his grave at Hollywood's bastardisation of his brutal cold-hearted spy. |

The bond i grew up 2 knw woz or is a fckin womanizer thanx to the liks of brosnan nd roger moore but the ian flemin bond is nt a womanizer. . . p_kasso: Disagree! The closest to the book is Daniel Craig My favourite has always been Roger Moore due to the fact that he was the Bond I knew and grew up with. Who is the Best? The only way to answer that question is to ask yourself that if you could choose one of these actors to be in their prime and to take on the role now, who would you want? probably if I was about 10 years older ill say sean connery, cos his accent is just the ONE! But it has to be pierce! such a foine foine fella! that was based on looks lol I was a little bit torn between moore and sean, sean owned the character, when you think of a bond classic or any bond movie btw or you read any of the books- seans image comes into your head.But moore was a bit more loose, more humanised, he made bond more likable and more attractive. im torn! |

My choice for Best would be Sean Connery I think he is the epitome of what Ian flemming had in mind. Just like another poster wrote "like fine wine he also seems to get better with age."Next for me is Roger Moore ( I don't know perhaps 'cos I grew up watching him as bond) Pierce I liked in all of his bond movies funny enough. Then again I am a fan of the Bond franchise. Except for On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Now as for DANIEL CRAIG  , I hesitate to give him the BEST Title 'cos he has just been in two movies. However, I see great potential and a contender for Mr Connery's spot. SMOKING HOT THOUGH!!! Sorry to say but Tim Dalton just wasn't Bond for me. |

Read za Bond books and weep at Moore's foppish, mincing Bond. He was basically reprising his role in the TV series The Persuaders, with Tony Curtis. Dalton suffered from the worst Bond scripts ever and the worst supporting cast in Bond history. Even Lazenby's script and support was better, at least in the ten minutes I saw. Don't know if Mendes can do an actioner jere. Should stick with British theatre and those movies where half the cast contemplate their navels and talk about 'deep', existential stuff. An old hand at classy action like Michael Mann woulda been better. |

the only reason moore probably wont go on most peoples radars is because he was old when he took the roles. If he were younger he would have been perfect! Its funny how most here like daniel craig, guessing because hes the most current one, hes the only bond some will know. He is the least liked and when he was given the role there was outrage from bond lovers, i think it was cos hes blonde and has blue eyes and isnt that handsome- doesnt go with the book! |

Weren't those with the 'outrage' the same ones who changed their tunes and went batshit with luv when they saw his performance in Casino Royale, for the record, the best Bond performance ever? Won an award for it, making him the only Bond to win an acting award. Moore's Bond has nothing to do with age. I grew up watching the guy, ah beg. Connery played Bond well into his fifties and he was great. Moore began the Bond roles when he was young, all the Bonds did. Guy's a sacrilegious Hollywood confection, nothing like Ian Fleming's man. The Jason Bourne in the movies isn't much like the Jason Bourne in the books; he was patterned after the Bond in Fleming's books. Craig is the first Bond to bring the Bond character to life exactly as Flemiing wrote it. That's why we love him, bless the blue of his eyes. Not cos he's the latest one. |

No they werent, he's not the greatest actor, the highest grossing bond, and alot that loved him then changed thier tune after the quantum of solace. Connery is in no doubt an exceptional actor but moore will have been perfect if he was younger, how is 45 young?? i think he was even the oldest bond!!! Im not even a chronic bond fan but i remember moore very well i was a fan of some of his other works, your not the only one that grew up watching him love! who didnt? The closest to ians man was definitely pierce, tall dark handsome and posh, danial craig is blonde blue eyed and chavy! they might as well cast eastenders max next! Being the most recent bond is definitely in craigs favour, its nothing to do with the original bond character, neither was his casting. The movies are drifting further away from flemings books as it is! |

The bond books portray him as a rascal who kept getting kicked out of school. He most likely was attractive in a brutish sort of way, not POSH and polished like Brosnan. He went to a boys academy of some sort not Eton, lol. By the way he had a SCAR too from his thugish boyish run-ins. Daniel Craig nails it spot on; dude's not gayishly handsome but attractive, even us males agree. Roger moore is still my fav Bond though and I luv OHMSS, even have the soundtrack. |

Me, I grew up with Pierce. He sort of defined thg Bond persona for me. I remember when I found a dog eared book of Ian Fleming in 1999. Up until that time I didn't know Bond first existed as a book. Even then I thought the book much too small to totally make the man so I assumed the on-screen Bond was a manifold extrapolation of the books. Saw some films of Sean and Roger and it got stuck with me that Bond MUST be a womaniser with 9 lives and therefore Daniel Craig didn't fit. I should read the books and decide but now I'm not so sure it'll be as easy for Bourne to kick Bond's ass even though he eventually will. |

daniel isnt attractive facially, probably just the bad boy charms that will bring the woman in, that doesnt go with the bond persona. Bond is a charm. Bond did actually go to eton- so he is a polished character from a upper class background. he was a trouble maker- that doesnt mean hes chavvy. There are mischeiveous rich boys too unno! I will have still preferred if they had cast clive for the role- He to me is the perfect bond! sexual-comical- dark and dangerous! He carries 'theres something about him' everywhere! |
