W e still have the last three standing, yes, the last three who have evolved from a list of twenty actresses we began with eight weeks ago.




ni Edo could not keep up with her last week’s impressive performance, she came 2nd this week with 1,194 votes. Her total of 4,899 keeps her at 2nd position.

Genevieve Nnaji takes the lead again this week with 1,370 votes, maintaining her 1st slot with a total of 5,094 votes.

Mercy Johnson keeps slipping more and more behind. Her weak votes of 686 this week and her total of 3,818 votes could not get her in any position other than 3rd

The list would have gone from three to two and then on to the winner but we have deliberately kept the quest on to reward our readers, the voters, who have been spending their money week in week out.


The promo on our papers says all you have to do to be one of the three winners to be rewarded for their contributions in making this quest a successful adventure.



Now, haven’t we heard the cliche that one man’s meat is another man’s poison? The idea of some voters going for the jugular of other voters because of their choice is not only primitive but most uncultured. This quest is just a public opinion poll where everyone has the right of expression.


The actresses have no knowledge of it (well, if I may say that) and the idea of hurling dirt at them just because they happen to be stars is most uncool. As from now on, any unhealthy text or mail, directed either to the actresses or other voters would be voided!



Last week, we saw how Ini Edo claimed the week with 671 votes, followed by Genevieve Nnaji who had 558 votes and Mercy Johnson in the 3rd slot with 539 votes. Though Ini led last week’s voting but remained at 2nd position because her total of 3,705 did not match up to Genevieve’s total of 3,724, who remained at the 1st spot. Mercy has refused to leave the 3rd position for about four weeks running now.



This week, Genevieve came back to lead the trio, polling 1,370 votes to beat Ini’s 1,194 votes and Mercy’s 630 votes. Though a total of 3,368 votes came in this week, only 3,250 were counted as 118 votes counted as multiple votes. So, the count-down goes like this: Genevieve Nnaji has 5,094 votes, Ini Edo 4,899 votes and Mercy Johnson 3,818 votes.


The total votes that have been received in this quest so far comes to 18,049. Yet, the battle continues! WHO IS THE SEXIEST NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS 2008?
