Hi Guys, This stupid person sent the below email to me.I would have fallen for it if not that the person sent the same email verbatim using different name and address to me the same day which is today.I think he/she is looking for who to scam so beware!He/she is just using NAIRALAND as a cover up! I don't even know how the scammer got a grip of the email address he sent the message to me. Very limited people hardly send email to me on that account, and I do not think I have that email address showing anywhere on nairaland sef. The email address he sent the mail to is not in my nairaland profile.How he got it will remain a mystery.I just hope it's not a kind of virus!They could be monitoring ones email without one's knowledge.Anything is possible with technology Let's assume that you have four different email addresses, only one of them is public, the rest three are private. If I want to know what the private ones are I can, its not too difficult. Lets say 123456@XYZ.com is the private one. I will send you email at 123456@XYZ.com and pray that you will reply to me. If you do I have won! Your reply will come back to my inbox with identification tags that include IP address and hostname or SMTP address. I can use those two tags alone to harvest information on the www and per chance, I will hit on one or more emails sharing the same tags as 123456. It is just an information, nothing more than that! It is my job to piece the analysis together and come to conclusion that 123456, ABCDEF, PQRSTU and 123UVW are all collocators on the IP. Now I can send you email using any of your address that I want, public or private. There are few exceptions to the IP rule, if it looks like: 169.254.X.X , ; This is a bad address and ususally is reserved for Microsoft 10.0.X.X , ; private networks like closed circuit network for designated ports within a large LAN 172.16.X.X to 172.31.255.255, ; Private Corporation and big companies usually with a IT unit 192.168.X.X , ; Individual internal connection like home network or router configuration. |

Why would scammers try to scam fellow Nigerians? Don't they know that we know all their tricks? Those scammers are aiming at the wrong market. Infact, they are very stupid. Such people should quit scamming cos it is not for them. They should save their scams for the Europeans and the Arabs. |
