The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday pulled former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasidi Ladoja into its dragnet in connection with alleged fraudulent sale of N6.2 billion government shares.
Ladoja became a guest at the Lagos office of the EFCC Thursday evening and was being interrogated by the anti-graft agency's operatives as at press time in connection with the alleged fraud.
Daily Sun gathered that shortly before the end of his tenure, Ladoja had sold Oyo State's shares in some public companies, an action which the succeeding administration had condemned.
It was alleged that while the shares were valued at N6.2billion at the time of sale, the Ladoja administration remitted only N4.3 billion into government coffers.
Ladoja, according to sources, was being grilled by the EFCC on the whereabouts of the N1.9 billion difference between the shares value and the actual amount paid into government treasury.
The former government may be charged to court today over the alleged fraud.
