Tears Of A Broken Hearted Violin by Orikinla(m): 6:35pm On Sep 08, 2008
Toni told me about her genius.
"She was the best violin player in Covenant University," she said.
She graduated last July and they were all happy to celebrate with her. Then, suddenly she  died. But she did not die alone. She and her mother were killed in a ghastly road accident in Nigeria. The tragic story left me dumb and numb for a moment and the thought struck a chord in my heart and soul. How such a beautiful life was cut short in her prime and her beautiful dreams unfulfilled. I thought of what her musical genius would have done for the benefit of millions of people who would have heard her play her violin. My spirit moved me to compose a song in her memory. Then I went looking for someone to play a violin for the recording of the song. I do not even know her name.

There are tears ordinary eyes cannot see
Because these are not ordinary tears.
The invisible tears of our invisible fears
The tears we have been shedding over the years.
The tears of my heart and soul.
The tears of joy and the tears of sorrow.
The joy of living and the sorrow of losing our dearly departed.

So, here I am all alone
Since my beloved is gone.
She has left me without even saying goodbye.
I am so heart broken, because I have been forsaken.
How I wish she took me along to heaven

She can no longer hold me in her loving arms
And she can no longer caress my neck and staff with her loving palms.
She has been blown away like a chaff in the wind
But her name still echoes in my mind
She is the spirit of my heart and soul.
I can still hear her angelic voice
In the echoes of the sound in space.

This post is not for petty comments, because the purpose is not for what the ignorant have rushed to conclude in their naivety.

Read and focus on the subject matter.

yicob,
Thanks for reading.

I have been in Lagos for the past 37 days and I have auditioned a young boy who is the younger brother of the school mate of the unfortunate student of the Covenant University. He will play the violin in the recording of the song. He is good and has the looks for the surreal mood for the musical video.

The music is inspired by Enigma.

the sound of a violin is synonymous with sadness, with pain
and with pure raw emotions
the sound of a broken hearted violin is an outpouring of genuine human feelings
tears of a broken hearted violin are invisible tears
for they are tears shed in the heart- the cradle of all emotions.
