Luke 7:

19 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to the Lord, saying, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another?

Who is this man call John the Baptist and what relation did he have with Jesus?   What authority did he have for baptising Jesus?  And were his disciples followers of Jesus?

What became of John the Baptist's disciples? Did they become followers of JC and also write "gospels"?

This is an incredulous question. Read earlier parts of Luke, it is clear Luke knew who Jesus was.

With repect, I think you mis-read my question. I was asking whether John the Baptist (NOT Luke) recognised Jesus?

John the Baptist was Jesus' cousin. Mary was Elizabeth's cousin, Mary visited Elizabeth when she heard she was pregnant to help her.

Jesus permitted him to do it.
Yes his disciples were Jesus' followers.

You know for someone who makes the claim to have been a Christian you are proving yourself a liar with your questions.

If John the Baptist was that close to Jesus, how come he did not know who Jesus was and had to send two of his disciples to find out?

@topic,
I want you to understand something here. In every situation of life there is always a human factor.
In the midst of trouble, when confusion sets in we open our mouth to say many things.
As for John and Jesus they knew each other even right from the womb.

During Jesus time, he (john) was telling the pple why Jesus' ministry was growing and his
depreciating because Jesus was the one that he (john)came to prepare the way for.

What happened in Luke 7 was just a human / flesh factor.

What evidence have you got for any of your claims?

I thought Luke 7 was inspired by yahweh/jehovah
ergo, not all the words in the bible are not inerrant,

JOHN 1: 19-34
19  Now this was John's testimony when the Jews of Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was.

20  He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, "I am not the Christ.[g]"
21  They asked him, "Then who are you? Are you Elijah?"
      He said, "I am not."
      "Are you the Prophet?"
      He answered, "No."

22  Finally they said, "Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?"

23  John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, "I am the voice of one calling in the desert, 'Make straight the way for the Lord.' "[h]

24  Now some Pharisees who had been sent

25  questioned him, "Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?"

26 "I baptize with[i] water," John replied, "but among you stands one you do not know.

27  He is the one who comes after me, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie."

28  This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Jesus the Lamb of God
29  The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

30  This is the one I meant when I said, 'A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.'

31  I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel."

32  Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him.

33  I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,
'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.'

34  I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God."

Was the narrative in John 1 (given above) before or after the narrative in Luke 7?. Take a look at this

They were cousins that doesn't mean they were so close to each other. I have brothers and sisters that I probably haven't met. Hey papa used to be a rolling stone.
