Its simply... Just create a new message, send the IMEI number to the same IMEI number. For example, if your IMEI numeber is 12345....15, then send 12345.....15 as message to 12345.....15 and thats all. your phone will be blocked. But i dont know if it works in nigeria.

It happened to me months back. I call my service providers. They told me that there is no law that empower them to block your stolen phone via IMEI.

I do not know about Nokia, but if it were to be a BB and you had activated your BB protect, you could retrieve your details and get the manufacturers to deactivate the BBM capabilities. At least no sane buyer will buy a balckberry that he wount be able to ping with. IMO

you do realise that there's a difference between insuring a phone and blocking a stolen/missing phone.

My fone was stolen by a pickpocket in ibadan, while on my way to abj. And I called etisalat, they directed me to nokia. I emailed nokia and they re-directed me to etisalt: like ping pong ball.

Nokia howeva made a point: activate phone lock code. That's d surest way to make d fone useless to whoeva stole.

D imei blockin tin worked as per some stolen blackberries that were brought here; they wldnt work. Infact, the operation was funny. A friend bought one like that.

My blackberry phone was stolen last week.......How do i block the phone and render it useless to the thief?......kindly help.

I really think the ime should be resend to the phone and thats dope
