I think with the kind of things goin on in Nigeria now, we don't have to bother on where the next president comes from, we should rather focus on quality and the person. I think whoi we needis a people oriented person, a manger of sort,we need them new, young, vibrant, well groomed and energetic.

someonewho cares about the people in the rural areas, who cares about thousands of unemployed youths, who cares about posterity .

Enough of the talks, let's take a vote, suggest people of high moral standard and people who will not compromise to restructure NigeriaPolitically, becuase,I think the majorproblem we have on our hand is political and constitutional restructuring.

I see such a person in Pat Utomi, Dora Akunyili,Donald Duke, or what do you think?

I see such a person in Pat Utomi, Chris Okotie, thousands of faceless Nigerians who are seemingly irrelevant, home and abroad.

I see that person in Dora Akunyili, There's no other person in Nigeria (that readily comes to my mind) who has occupied such a public office and whose integrity can be vouched for. She's one dedicated lady. She has an essential ingredient which our "leaders" lack - empathy. Unfortunately, Nigerians (or is it male politicians?) are not yet ready for the emergence of a female leader.

I see a bit of that person in Mallam El-Rufai and Nuhu Ribadu (Yes, I know they're from the north), unfortuantely, they have both been greatly influenced so far but they have good leadership traits,

I quite disagree with the idea of a young person as the next President of Nigeria depending on the age group you are considering. Younger people are filled with fairy like ideas of how nigeria would/should be they are unrealistic, dreamers also inconsiderate and selfish and such a responsibilty would be beyond them. I also think nigerian would benefit from a persident who lives locally and is aware of what nigeria need and not a man who who going to make it a duplictae of another mans world.

I also disagree with deep soul, if Nigeria is not ready for a female leader when would it be "if not us then who, if not now then when" if you really think the men are doing a good job then you really need to think again. I just think the women need some more confidence and support.

Damsel, if u think that "Younger people are filled with fairy like ideas of how nigeria would/should be they are unrealistic, dreamers also inconsiderate and selfish and such a responsibilty would be beyond them", plz answer this question, what as been the acheivement of the so-called old and matured minds?

well they have not done much (actually that's not true) they've not done a single thing. But placing the younger generation there would make things even worse. Though theses days kids are getting wiser and are learning things at a faster rate it's only a little while before the younger generation learn from the failures of the old and so called mature minds i just don't think the time is now, every young person's mind is still on getting rich and so would be pushed to indulge in selfish endevours.

I think nigeria would be better if we all use our senses and vote into power young president, and not a washed out board like these old papas we are callng leaders. We should have a leader that would grow up with Nigeria nd not a pressident that is dying on the seat of power.

The young have smart ideas, that would do good to use. Especially those who have seen and experienced a different country and culture. They could use what they had learnt to at least make a difference.

And so speaking that is my own IF
