your obj wants nigerians to regret their actions in not allowing him a third term.
he knows the man in yar adua he ask the guy to come.
all the same, things worked out well for obj as he does not among other things want someone who will ask him why when it comes to his actions in his eight years.
one thing is sure, whatsoever that goes up must come down.
Re: Missing Obj! by kevd2: 5:46pm On Sep 21, 2008
those of you who claim to miss obasanjo actually reflect what is wrong with Nigeria.Where people canonize bad leaderhip based on stupid excuses and tribal sentiment. What is he basis for comparison when we all know that This president was forced on us so that no one can uncover the batant abuse of power that was perpertrated by previous regimes. We all know that Yaradua is OBJ's Surrogate and he will not challenge the Framwwork that that people like OBJ,Ibb,Anenih and co created.Nigerians have sold their souls to Mediocrity that is why You hear people praise Ibbas better than Abacha,Abacha better than Obj, now it is Obj thatis better than better than Yaradua. The day we stop embracing Mediocrity under the auspices of tribal sentiment Nigeria will move forward.

Though i agree Nigeria has never been blessed with true HEROS, i want to subscribe to the idea that Chief Okikiola Mathew Aremu Olusegun OBASANJO tried indeed to be a good leader. He had his ills too, sometimes so many i think he is a donkey, but in the Nigerian context, the guy try abeg!
The likes of Yar'adua make us think OBJ is an hero!
(There is nothing like TRY though, for there is no room for mediocrity in our generation!)

Yes OBJ tried.

He used $16billion to buy us darkness. He tried indeed.

The fool and his money soon path ways.

pls no one should try and justify anything that OBJ did in his 8 yrs . That is an insult on the Average Nigerians intelligence.
the man completely betrayed the trust of sincere Nigerians that expected much from him even after his life was spared from anoher Tyrant like him.
- his list of failures and abuse of power is endless.
1- Tried to perpetrate himself in Power just like Abacha and Mugabe even though he is the only Man to rule the country on 2 different occasions.
2 Poverty Alleviation (NAPEP). a Failure,Basic Education (UBE) a Failure.
3- Funding to Education particular at Universty level was completly ignored.
4- His Power Plant Schemes in both of his tenures was just an excuse to rape the treasury. Failure.
5-Contributed to the Niger Delta crisis by playing divide and rule Politics in the Region especially Rivers State.
6- the Aviation sector almost collapsed under his watch.
7-The most Prejudiced Anti Corruption War ever waged when Transparency International claimed that '80% of corruption in Nigeria is perpetrated by the federal Goverment.'
8- Attempts to turn the Petroleum Industry to an Oligopoly controlled by his friends (Otedola and Dangote), while his Son controled the importation of fuel, and some people have the guts to condemn Abacha's Son.
9-Share disregard for the rule of law and the principles of Democracy,eg Anambra State and the last elections.
I can go on and on and despite overwhelming evidence someone still thinks he can compare the tenure of his surrogate to him. May God help Nigerians with our delusional thinking.

I think you re ignoramus to advocate death for the person that exceed every other govt in term of achievements both as military and civilian regime, though I must concede he has his shortcoming. Well i don't blame you most Nigerian youths will rather pass judgement rather seek the facts about issues.

a short-coming, indeed!!

$16billion to buy us darkness.

Even Abacha with all his evil stole only $3billion.

At least OBJ make decisions that are being corrected and tried his little bit. Yar'Dull, have not done any f, king thing. What rule of law shits are u guys always talking about? It has been rubbished by CHANNEL TV issue.
Pls give it to OBJ, so many things have been liberalized, the economy got kicked started, and the best part, OBJ new he was not brillant, but made effort to get the best brains to work for him. Yar'dull have around him, his wife and Katsina constituency, that could not make any substantial progress in Katsina. Lastly, let stop blaming OBJ for fostering Yar'Dull on urs. Yar'Dull is over 50, are we saying he can't take decisions for himselve?

Re: Missing Obj! by dayokanu(m): 6:26pm On Sep 24, 2008
One of OBJ's gift to Nigeria was the worst election in History

An uninterested president.

Niger-Delta crises Reloaded.

$16billion

The guillotine would be too good and too fast a death for OBJ He should be put to jail.

Was OBJ not the one who forced Yar'Adua when Yar'Adua too admitted that the erection/selection was flawed.

Nigeria hit the height of Lawlessness during OBJ. Niger-Delta, BolaIge, Dikibo, Harry marshals, Funsho Williams etc are key milestones

Bawomolo,

Where did the $16b power project money go to If we are still in darkness in Nigeria. Did you watch the probe where everybody was denying and leaving the issue with OBJ even Okonjo denied him and Gbenga and his wife confessed to getting juicy contract whenever OBj sleeps with Gbenga Obasanjo's wife
Re: Missing Obj! by bawomolo(m): 6:31pm On Sep 24, 2008
Where did the $16b power project money go to If we are still in darkness in Nigeria

so you think the contractors, engineers, NIPP, ministers, senators involved with the power project are clean? lol, corruption is in every strata of Nigerian society. everybody got a share of the cake including OBJ.
Re: Missing Obj! by Afam(m): 6:42pm On Sep 24, 2008
Love OBJ or hate him God Has shown that OBJ was part of His plan for Nigeria.

You don't get to rule the most populous black nation on earth twice (first as a military man and second as a civilian) without God having a say in it.

OBJ made mistakes but it will be very wrong to dismiss his many contributions towards the stability and economic growth we are witnessing today as a nation.

Maybe those of us that kept praying for OBJ to die were deceiving ourselves and of course God never listened to the prayer of the wicked.

There is no president or head of state that has done much in the area as power generation as OBJ did and this is a fact.

Sometimes we are blinded by hate that we turn logic on its head just to rubbish someone.

Condemn OBJ for his mistakes but for any good thing he did while in office he deserves to be commended.
Re: Missing Obj! by landis(m): 7:20am On Sep 25, 2008

Indeed.

$16bill gone and we still generating less than 3000MW.
Re: Missing Obj! by Afam(m): 11:01am On Sep 25, 2008
landis:

Indeed.

$16bill gone and we still generating less than 3000MW.

1. No one spent $16B in the first place

2. Power generation increased to more than 3000MW while OBJ was in power

3. The over 400 power projects that were initiated under OBJ (where the bulk of the over $10B went to) are still ongoing projects, projects that have been delayed by the Yar'adua led government due to the probe, delay at the various ports where turbines are already laying waste, the inability of the NIPP people to pay the villages compensations for lands acquired and the problems in the Niger Delta where construction workers are being kidnapped.

4. That you cannot see any improvement based on the NIPP issue is perfectly normal because there is usually a project time frame for such projects and even without the unnecessary delays being caused by the present government the delivery date is still not here.

5. Even if all the projects are 97% complete you will not see any improvement because you cannot generate a single watt of electricity if all the components involved in the power generation are not complete and functional.

Learn to discuss based on facts, logic and common sense. This idea of doing everything to tarnish the image of someone for no reason or for lack of understanding of the real issues is bad and serves no useful purpose whatsoever.
Re: Missing Obj! by landis(m): 12:41pm On Sep 25, 2008
I dont need to argue with you no level of 'white-washing' can deceive Nigerians.

OBJ spent $16bill and what we have is more DARKNESS.

Even in ASO-ROCK they are using generator. I was there.

It is so bad that YARADUL lamented to the whole WORLD.

OBJ is a roque, forgetten to rubish of history.

The facts are clear to Nigerians.

bawomolo,

You have committed a fatal error of generalisation.

Everybody is not part of the thieves who stole $16billion .

Is the man in the village who does not hold up to 500 naira in one month part of the theif?

YOU MUST BE A CORRUPT THEIF THAT SERVE UNDER THE BEAST CALLED OBASANJO.

POSTERITY WILL JUDGE YOU ALL.
