Message

Light and darkness are antithetical. While light is welcome by everyone, darkness is shunned and rejected. Light is an illuminating agent. It affects everything and without it, there will be no life. Light is mostly used when referring to goodness and godliness. 1 John 1:5 reveals to us that God is light. This means whoever is born of God must reflect the attributes of light. A keen study of light reveals many attributes which believers should endeavour to reflect. One of such attributes is the wave. Simply put, a wave is a disturbance. Whoever is born of God is light, and because light has the nature of a wave, his or her life must be a disturbance to the works of darkness everywhere. Acts 4:15-17 is a classical example of a situation where believers reflected this attribute of light. Are you born of God? Then your life should challenge both the works and the workers of darkness. Another attribute of light is force. Light as a force causes movement or change. Everyone that is born of God is expected to shine by provoking positive change. You should be able to cause positive change and movement to the glory of God. You are expected to be a strong force of progress in your home, family, community, society, place of work, church and nation.........

Message

A grave peril of Christian leadership is that of disqualification. Every Christian leader must be obedient, prayerful, watchful, temperate and self-disciplined so that after acting as a herald who bids others into the Kingdom of God, he himself should not miss Heaven. As a leader, it is possible to be disqualified by God. In 1 Samuel 15:20-24, we see Saul being disqualified by God:

PEACE LIKE A RIVER

Message

If you desire to combine long life with pleasurable days, you must keep your tongue from evil, do good, and depart from evil. You must seek peace and pursue it. This means that wherever there is a conflict, you must do everything in your power to install peace. You must vigorously follow after peace. Proverbs 16:7 says,
“When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
From this scripture, we see that there is a link between our relationship with God and the type, duration and extent of our peace. Isaiah 9:6 calls Jesus the Prince of Peace. In other words, Jesus is the manufacturer and true custodian of peace. There is no way you can enjoy lasting peace without first pleasing Him. What kind of peace are you enjoying? The peace that you have is a reflection of your relationship with the Prince of Peace. If you please Him, He can settle the conflicts that exist between you and your enemies. If you want to settle the conflict between you and your enemies or even between you and your loved ones, yet you keep the Prince of Peace at a distance, then you are not yet ready for settlement.

In the above scripture, David did not just say he waited, but that he waited patiently. The implication of this is that the Christian race is not a sprint but a marathon. The journey to Heaven is not something you do in just a day, but rather what may take a whole lifetime. Due to the emphasis placed on the gospel of the return of Jesus Christ, some people believed He would come the very next day or week after they received Him into their hearts. Ministry is in stages. You start from being an onlooker – a spectator who is eager to observe and learn, then you move on to being sent, after which you get to the level of going on your own. I recall the first time I laid hands on people in church on returning from a Kenneth Hagin camp meeting in Tulsa, USA in 1979. I saw Kenneth Hagin laying hands on people and they fell under the anointing and received miracles. On my way back to Nigeria, I talked it over with God in the plane. The following Sunday, I asked people to queue up, I laid hands on them, and they fell under the anointing – a practice I never believed could happen.

In the service of God, there is always a higher level you can move on to. For instance, Acts 5:15-16 says Peter moved up to the level where even his shadow was healing the sick. This season, the Lord will take you higher until you get to the very top! Whatever level you have achieved in ministry or in business, there is still a higher level you can attain. There is always space at the top for high climbers.

The first time you are confronted with a golden opportunity that will catapult you into greatness, you may think that your end has finally come. This season, giant opportunities will come to you. They will be so big that you will not miss them, but know this: they may camouflage as problems. Don’t be scared but rather rejoice that your change has come at last. Remember that after David was anointed king in his father’s house, Goliath showed up to take his crown. From this, learn that certain problems that come your way after a definite prophetic word from God on your promotion, success, victory or breakthrough are out to legitimise your blessing and usher you into it. Even if people were in doubt about how Young David could ever qualify to be so honoured, by the time he killed Goliath, all their doubts were dissipated. His brothers and others who were challenging God’s decision acknowledged that even though he was younger, he was outstanding, since he could accomplish what they could not.

Message

Besides providing an avenue for you to report everything that threatens your peace and joy, prayer brings the fullness of the Spirit. We see this demonstrated in Acts 4:31:
“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
The Holy Spirit is ever near those who call upon God in truth, while He is distant from those who call upon Him in pretence or who hardly pray. In James 4:8, we are enjoined to draw near to God. How? One way to do this is by praying. When you pray, you provoke the Holy Spirit to come closer to help you. If you fail to pray, you keep Him at bay. If you pray intensely and effectively enough, He will descend upon you and even those around you. Message

Before you are saved, you are first drawn by God. It can be through a message, some miraculous act or even a divine visitation. God has been searching for you from the day of your birth but you may have ignored Him for too long. He may have used your friends, relatives and different media to reach out to you, but His message may have fallen on deaf ears. It is time to accept Him today so that all may be well with you.

After drawing you, the next thing God does is to cleanse you. This is what is commonly called salvation. He said in Ezekiel 36:25 that:
“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.”
Why does He need to cleanse you?

Why not accept you the way He found you? It is because God is a holy God. He is perfectly clean. Because God is light, He does not have even the slightest dot of darkness. If the President of your nation wants to invite a poor, wretched, dirty and unkempt beggar who lives on the streets to dine with him, the beggar must first be washed, shaved and dressed in presentable clothes.

Psalm 40:2 says every sinner lives in a horrible pit. Every sinner is stained with sin. We cannot with our physical eyes determine how clean or dirty a person is inwardly. You may be adjudged the neatest and best dressed physically, but be noted as the dirtiest sinner before God. No personal claim to being saved can make you saved except God cleanses you. Sin is such a tough and permanent stain that it takes only the blood of Jesus to wipe it off – ........

SATAN INTIMIDATES

Message

When Goliath came to the battlefield, he took the form of a big problem but later he became a big opportunity. He came as a mighty obstacle but turned into a mighty door of opportunity when God stepped in. Every giant who stands in your way this season shall become a door to your breakthrough in Jesus’ Name. The Redemption Camp grounds used to be the headquarters of highway armed robbers as well as the abode of big snakes. The first snake that was killed there was about 16 feet (about 5 metres) long; it was very big. A snake of that size was enough to drive anybody away from the camp grounds. However, we did not see it as a problem but as an opportunity. Today, the Redemption Camp has become the headquarters of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and is fast becoming a city. I decree that every problem that is standing in your way will soon become a point of testimony!

Every child of destiny must expect obstacles but surmount them in the name of the Lord. After trusting God for several years for a car, one of my sons was finally blessed with one. He got a brother to teach him how to drive. As they drove on the highway, they got arrested by the police. After scaling through that, another government traffic agency arrested them, claiming they did not have correct papers. On getting to the office of the agency, they brought out all their papers and asked the officers to tell them what was missing. It was then the officers realised their papers were complete but they would not own up to their mischief. They collected money from them before releasing them. That experience almost made him resolve never to drive again. However, he refused to be intimidated and today, he has changed cars. The devil still intimidates! If he cannot prevent the blessing from coming, he will.......

When God calls you, it sometimes might appear like a demotion. This was my experience. When God called me into full-time ministry, I struggled with it because I had experienced poverty from childhood which I thought I had finally been delivered from when I became a university lecturer. I received the call of God when the church was in a humble state financially. I recall the day a young man gave me a 50 kobo note; I received it and blessed him. It is possible for a blessing from God to later turn into a curse. Ephraim was so blessed that at a point he forgot God. Deuteronomy 8:7-18 warns against forgetting God after the Lord has prospered you. Deuteronomy 8:17 says:

If you easily give in to fear, Satan will intimidate you out of your open doors. One attribute of children of destiny is that they are never intimidated by the enemy, situations or circumstances that confront them. When Moses and the children of Israel got to the Red Sea, it appeared their journey to the Promised Land had come to a dead end! How could they cross a sea of that magnitude without ships, canoes or bridges? Yet, in God’s wisdom, in order to drown Pharaoh and his army, He needed a sea that big and deep to do the job. A little river could not swallow such an army, hence, His choice of the Red Sea. This tells us that the size of the enemies facing us would determine the size of the sea that will swallow them. The bigger the sea, the more complete your victory will be. Also, from this we learn that the Red Sea that comes our way is not necessarily to hinder us, but to destroy our oppressors. That hindrance on your way is not meant to hinder you; rather it’s designed to stop your enemies. That obstacle will not stop you but will surely stop your enemies.

In 1 Kings 18:30-45, it was after Elijah built a new altar to the Lord that he heard the sound of imminent heavy rain which did fall. This implies that after a new altar has been raised to the Lord, you will begin to hear the sound of abundance of rain. God wants to bless you but for most people, the present altar cannot take it because it is in a state of disrepair. The repair of the altar must precede the much awaited breakthrough. You must do something about the state of God’s altar if you want to operate at a higher level of anointing. If you leave the altar the way it is, it shows you do not want to make progress. Ephesians 3:20 makes it clear that God can do far beyond our request. If you build a new altar for God, even before you ask, He would have answered you.

When young David stood before Goliath, he was not afraid, because he had certain master keys to unlock the door of opportunity before him. He applied the master keys of prayer, God’s word, the Name of Jesus, holiness and faith (1 Samuel 17:23-51).
