BUSINESS START-UP IDEA:
Start up a Student Excursion/Tour Business in Nigeria

Introduction:
There are so many Nursery, Primary and Secondary (High) schools in Nigeria, and a fair number in every city in Nigeria. On Average, There are about 200 pupils and students in these schools. This Business is about creating an avenue to take students out on Educational Trips across cities, states in the country. You will agree with me that in our primary and secondary school days, we always looked forward to the days where we would go out together as students to some fancy cities with our pen and paper, taking notes and snapping pictures. This is basically the Idea of a Student Excursion Business.

Things to know before setting up Student Excursion Business in Nigeria
Basic knowledge is needed in any sector you wish to establish in else, failure is inevitable. The following must be known before you can establish this business in your city:
- Educational sites around your city, state and outside your state
- You should build solid relationship with school owners

Requirements, Equipment and Materials Needed
- A Registered Business name or company so as to be taken seriously
- A Standard Coaster Bus or its equivalent (or you can partner with transport companies if you cannot afford bus)
- An Office in a good location to receive customers and attend to enquiries, complaints, etc

Capital Requirements
To effectively start the education tour business, here is the breakdown of your capital needs. This might vary depending on some factors:
- Office space: - varies/depends on your city
- Minimum 18 seater Bus: - varies/depends on the bus of interest
- On the Average, measured by my preference, you will not spend less than N900,000 to acquire the two items listed above

Marketing, Advertising and Customer Care
The quickest way to gain ground in this business sector is to:
- Build Relationships - Build a working and active relationship with school owners and principals.

BUSINESSES A STUDENT CAN DO WHILE IN SCHOOL TO MAKE MONEY

Every business no matter how big or small it is, needs customers in-order to make profit, and a school environment represent a gathering of so many potential customers. A good student is one that is all round, not just in academics, but in life generally. Becoming financially independent as a student in High school or in the University is one way you can show that you are gradually becoming a real man or woman who is productive.

Speaking of business ideas for students, here is a list of 3 profitable ones you can do:

1. Laundry Services: Students are activity people; involving in one activity or the other in campus, and never having time for themselves. You can set up a mini laundry services business to help fellow busy students wash their clothes or iron their clothes every week.

2. Tutorials: As a student, you are in school to acquire knowledge, and like we were all taught, any knowledge not applied is wasted. You can turn the knowledge you are acquiring daily into a money making venture in your spare time. Tutorial services is one of such ways. There are a lot of students in your class who do not understand as fast as you do, so offering to put them through one on one or in a group is a big way to convert your time and knowledge to profits.

3. Procurement Services: Most sellers in schools tend to take advantage of students by selling their stuff at a much higher price than normal to students on campus. They generally believe that the student won't have time to go outside school to buy it, so whatever price they charge, they are going to buy. You can step in here and make yourself great money. All you need do is to identify the kind of products in demand among students and find time every weekend to go outside school to cheaper markets and procure them, and then sell to students at a much cheaper price than the price on campus.
