I've tried to eschew replying some posts here.. Wherever you find the progressives there are bound to exist-the regressives.

A close look at the increment paints it outrageous and inhumane and as treacherous as slaying a dying man.

How do we help these 'dying men'? The SU excos have really performed reasonably well to their capacity and the victory in thiss struggle lies in how long are we (OAU students) ready to hold on and stand-up for a positive end?

The fact that some students have paid doesn't justify the stake that the fee is payable by all. Even if 3% are yet to pay we have to still reaffirm that injustice has no other name and it births nothing but outright misplace and displacement of the downtrodden.

It's no news saying the struggle in OAU is a microcosm of what happens at the bigger sphere here in Nigeria and the resolve of the oppressed has more to say about what future awaits our dear nation. Whether the increment will stand or not remains the choice of the oppressed (OAU students). But how long are we determined to fight? Time will tell.

"evil is not when the perpetrator did his thing but when the good heads opted to do nothing to save the situation".

Victoria Ascerta as La Lucha Sigue (Victory is ascertain as the struggle continues)

Well, i think you guys know better than i do. You may continue with your fights. And i wish you the best with it. but please i don't think i deserve all these name calling and abuses. counting years, i should be far older than you guys judging, by your posts, i feel you're students of OAU.

but try seek knowledge from those ahead of you, protest nor dialogue nor vandalism has never resolved any hike in school tuition in Nigerian universities.

i still repeat, if education is costly, try ignorance

Helloo. Pls, try to accept that you were wrong sir/ma. I think you ought to read before you post. Your posts reek of ignorance.
You may be older than me but I think I'm not too small to correct you. Next time, just pass by if you do not have time to read the OP.

1st of all, there is non of your business with what OAU is doing to make money!
2ndly, if u read ur constitution well, u govern only matriculated students, Wetin consign u consign how much them dey collect predegree or acceptance!
3rdly! Do u know Tony Fash, dr 3As, Saburi, Olwokandi, etc? If u know their story, don't think Omole and Durosimi cares so much about you!

If una get correct head! I heard most people don pay self. Go beg management and resume on time! U just dey wait ur life ontop protest while ur mates for unilag dey progress!

Y r u so backward? Maybe the uncivilazation in ife is really getting into your brain!

Calm down man. Folks like you should be in other schools - not Great Ife.
(Un)fortunately, those people you're addressing may not see this. Moreover, they didn't decide these actions alone, they are all congress resolutions. Well, people like you would never attend congresses. Pathetic.
Pls, change your orientation before it's too late.

oluwamitomisin: OAU students, I am sorry for you guys.

I don't have much time to read your press statement. But with just gossips i heard around, your so called action is uncalled for. You just survived a number of ASUU strike and all you can think of is a protest of increase in tuition of 2000 to 20000 naira. Guys let's be realistic for once.

If education is too costly, try ignorance!
Perfect definition of FALLACY.

I enjoyed virtually free education to tertiary level. If not for the "free" education, I will certainly not be a graduate today. Even though I paid practically nothing (25 in year one and 1,000 in final year), life on campus was still difficult as my father retired the year I gained admission. So I can feel the pain of students asked to pay 50k and above now. The generation before mine got free education with free food, free laundry service, etc.
However, our present reality mean present students my not be able to enjoy what I enjoyed. Students population has increased, more schools established and budgetary allocations stagnant or even reduced. Primary school are on more than 9 months strike in 2 states. The reality of today is no government in Nigeria can fund education alone. Whoever desire tertiary education should be ready to pay for it. This is what happen in the Western world we desire our country to be like. Tertiary Education is not free in US, UK or Germany. What I feel you should fight for is the there should be no increase in fees once a student is admitted. Students should graduate with fees schedule they come in with. If that is the case, students can make choices intelligently and pick schools they can afford. Tertiary education is an investment, students and parents who will be beneficiaries of the investment should be ready to pay required price.

Oh! You were not aware? Well, that's your fault, you know.
OAU is the best because some had fought for its being the best before we got there. They endured worse conditions, some lost their lives in the process.
So, it's left for you to either betray the legacy or uphold it. Whichever way, history and posterity will judge you.
I know both of yhu(jaryeh and bolaji) are now feeling like a hero, and u think everybody is buying it, i mean are yhu telling me ur not feeling any pressure @ hum, after payin the exorbitant school fees,u get to spend only 2 weeks at sckul, and ur sent baq hum like a chicken, jus becus sum people feel its wrong to pay sumthing they should pay, let's c it this way,in the 90s do u knw how much dey sell a litre petrol, mayb 20 naira, won't it be stupid to take 20naira to filling station to pay fuel now?huh? Then again, abt our past heros, afrika and the likes,i never heard afrika was fyting for increased school fee,and i don't think africa will be appy if he had to use 7yearz for 4years course, and even if he would b api abt it,that was den, when der is always job running after people, not now that yhu have to fyt for job,not to talk of the age barrier, don't get me wrong,am not in support of the increment, And i knw wat the managment did is outrageous, buh lashing sum1 4 asking 4 when we will resume is so uncalled for!so make omole and ibikunle resolve this issue jawe!!! Am not get any younger!!!

Oga, your analysis ehn grin grin grin

Ask yourself these: What was the minimum wage then and what percentage of it was the school fees? What is it now and what percentage of it is the school fees?
I know how it feels, we're in it together na. We just've to endure it.
I can afford it, you can, others can, but some can't. Should they be sent home? Haba!

No government can fund education alone? Interesting! Same government in whose care $20b disappeared into thin air? Tell me more.

No one is saying there should be any increment. All we are saying is, if there would be any, it should be reasonable and justified.

I love you struggle for common emancipation of Nigerian students. I hope you have no intention of spending millions studying Msc in abroad after this time out. Lets do it here and fight its cause.

lol,nyc qus, although am not working back den,but i know what dey ar receiving now is way higher than the 90s when the school fees was implemented,or aint u in nigeria wen the labour congress fought for minimum wage. Anyway what am saying is that 6500 to 11k is to small for tertiary institution and u knw it!but since we are in aluta school, aluta must happen, but time is not by our side, we are not getting any younger, like now,we ar on +1year alwedi, and from what have heard omole is once like ibikunle,e knows his every move,he knows the best way to tackle him,and even how to eliminate him, sometimes we just have to compromise, aluta against all oppression!oya aluta continua grin grin grin

2) If your Pa. paid that exorbitant fee when he was in tertiary institution, would he get that Quality education to hustle and bubble and pay your fees, whether you pay 15M or 5Naira per semester.»»» When 80% of Nigerians still live on less than a dollar daily.

SEE BRO, COS YOU CAN PAY THAT FEE DOESN'T MEAN YOUR NEIGHBOUR CAN PAY IT

Nairacobra indeed, like father like son, like son like mother, like Omole like son, the exact reincarnation of iron lady- madam durosinwon. No wonder. No one does this nonsense in civilized countries, they will be behind bars ASAP. Nigeria is a jungle without respect for rule of law, but collective OAU students will not allow this form of anomaly in tertiary education to stay. Go tell them! Cobranaira, bloodmoney. I really loathe the orientation ů̶̲̥я̲ parents gave you at home, it was only meant to intimidate you at home, now will you allow that orientation to intimidate you outside and stunt ů̶̲̥я̲ future?
