Do Nigerians still Use The Mobile Authentication Service (MAS) Found On Drugs? by tochman(m): 3:17pm On Jun 30, 2014
NAFDAC introduced the Mobile Authentication Service (MAS) to Nigeria some years ago in order to reduce or totally eliminate fake drugs from Nigeria. It can be found on most drugs. A panel which looks like that of a scratch card. When it is scratched, it reveals a 10 digit code which should be text to 38353 via mobile for free. A reply will be received almost immediately stating the drug's authenticity.

Now back to business. The funny thing is that initially, everybody wanted to test this new service including myself. People didn't even want to buy drugs without the MAS feature. Now its out of trend and all guards have been let down. I have used this service just 2 times and my concern is that most Nigerians no longer use this feature introduced by the NAFDAC of which im included.

Does this mean that we are now a 100% sure that our drugs are authentic or are we now ignorant of the past. How many of us still use this feature?
