I guess Seun's religion does not give him the reasons to believe in such things. I have seen things happen severally and don't need anyone to tell me that these things are real. Even in the bible there was a place where Jesus castes out the demons in a mans body into some pigs. Individually we know what we believe in and pretty nothing may change that.

Over the weekend, I was privy to a Demon-Exorcism or Spiritual Deliverance at the house of my pious Christian neighbor clarified.

What was interesting is that for the first time, The only Muslim among 6 flats of Christian folks concurred with the other Christians on what was taking place before me. I was not aware that Muslims believed in demon-possession/removal.

A young girl (Housemaid) resumed at her employer's house and as I understand, needed to go through some purification process after having passed the compulsory Health tests. She was interviewed by a Man of God.. Who was the Pastor of my neighbour's Church. (I won't mention it here)

The pastor through the "Eyes of the Spirit" determined she was possessed of a "latent war demon" who's appointed duty is to work at a location until such a time when he/she will be called upon to execute some agreed script by his/her Demon taskmasters. I was totally in awe of the Pastor's depth of knowledge and experience about Demons and Demon-possession.

The reason I was called to this session apparently is that every tenant needs to know any new house-help getting hired so everyone is in agreement and there is no confusion as to the house-helps, Character, Spiritual and Mental stability. all this i sort of agreed with until the "Spiritual Deliverance" commenced.

To cut the story short, the girl probably no older than 15 was delivered of 5 specific spirits (Frustration, Poverty, Fornication, Stealing and Stubbornness) and one demon (War Demon) after almost 30 minutes of vomiting and spitting. As i learned; she will be taken to Church to rest as part of a recovery process to totally cleanse her of all remnants of the Devil's work.

As i am planning on hiring a house-help in the very near future. I am disturbed by what I saw and wanted to find out from our Religious experts on Demonology answers to the following:

1: How can you tell a person is possessed by specific Evil Spirits and Demons?

2: Are Spirits different from Demons?

3: Are Spirits and Demons limited by the Intellectual Maturity or Physical Disabilities of the person they possess? are demons as dumb as the people they possess

I may have my notions about demons but they are no where near the experience I had this weekend.

What am saying is that light & darkness have no fellowship.When the presence of God enters a place,every demonic spirit flees. I was one of the 5 ushers and we held her very well, yet she pushed everyone of us away..some fell.. every one of us is at least 6 feet tall.

Because you don't believe in something does not make it fake..pray you don't encounter what is going to be too late for you to believe.

In Islam, Demons do not really tempt human rather it is the human that tempts them. What tempts human is the devil.

i wouldnt say i met the demon. I'd say experience in the hands of one. Demons work in different ways. Let me not bore u wit my long story. I'll give u two out of numerous incidences of wat I and some of my Classmates experienced back in sec sch. One nite my room mate and I decided to sleep in a friend's room. I locked up our room and held the key. I woke up early morning to ease myself only to see my room wide open with the lights on. There was no forced entry and yes i was still with my room key. Nothing was missing only my room mate's pressing iron was at d side of the courtyard. i had to to wake my room mate up to ask if he entered the room which he denied. We both went to check the room again this time his iron was no longer at the courtyard. It was now on the ironing table plugged in and on his mosquito net which was in the room wen i first checked the room. That was just one experience of many

For we Africans, our minds already accommodate the existence of spirits and demons since they are familiar to our culture. However, if we are to independently authenticate the truth of their existence, which is essential in separating falsehood from truth; it would almost be impossible. There is no starting point to begin from.

How could 5 men hold one girl at the same time when she only has two hands? Were two of you holding her legs, and one of you holding her head? Describe the scene to us in the detail. Tell us exactly what happened, who held what and when, step by step. Tell us how it ended, too.

Most people who believe in the existence of spirts do so because of their religious and cultural beliefs. My culture says they do likewise my religion. And I have also had a one-off experience about it, therefore I believe they do.
