adeiye:

hi. does anyone know, what courses or certifications i require for building, upgrading and updating a website. please responses a.s.a.p

Courses are varied name differently depend on which schools and colleges you enroll at below:

Web Development
Intro to HTML 101 and Advanced HTML
Web Designing
Visual Communication
Web Content Specialized
Web Production

Certifications also varied too:

Web Development certification
HTML certification
XML certification
PHP certification
Internet & Web Certification

Check for more info at following link including schools (USA):
http://webdesign.about.com/od/certification/Web_Development_Certification_XHTML_XML_HTML_Web_Design.htm

Remember I do not live in Nigeria, go NL Education or Certification & Training sections here there you will find lot more topics there matching what you look for.

Some did not go school or getting certifications but study on ebooks and books learning about website development at their own paces independently in order to save their money.

Some are very passionately to learn faster at least 2-5 years proficient in web designing including continue to upgrading their skills to be polished the latest technology trends.

Some are 5-10 years devoted web developers for a long time from changing programming from high-level to low-level, depend on situation based on survival and socio-economic environment.
Re: Designing A Website: For Beginners by simsind: 4:18pm On Aug 09, 2008
just to let you know that you can design a site using a tool that will be easier to learn
OK, as said technology has liberated lots of things in the IT world.
Now i will introduce you to Macromedia dreamweaver tool for webdesign with less html coding
thenwe conbine it PHP (HYPERTEXT TRANSFER PROTOCOL) as the dynamic scripting languge and the mysql as the database for a start.

so dreamweaver has both the code and the design interface which we can work with at the same time so any thing you place on the design interface the code is been authomatically generated on the code interface. it works perfectly unless otherwise needs to be modify through the code
So how did you guys see that?

Yoh! I sincerely appreciate what u re doing on this site. Free web design tutorial in 9ja by 9ja.
Its fun stuff and nice to follow from a more experienced point of view. But to be more honest
a lot of people who do not have ideas of mark up language will be misguided. You gotta let them know
the basics, what the whole html thing is about. So they can picture it and understand it more.
The truth about web development or web design is this, YOU MUST LEARN HTML FIRST! then if u want
to go on to use dreamweaver or visual studio it will better. but u cannot master those applications or learn
a scripting language like PHP or Javascript without knowing at least the basics of html. If u are a real beginner
at this web design stuff i can teach u the basics or even real advanced HTML/XHTML , PHP, FLASH, JAVASCRIPT and SQL
I Can share real knowledge that will save u a lot of time and maybe money. Just mail me at noseniDELETE@ymail.com Please remove the DELETE from the mail itz just noseni.

Re: Designing A Website: For Beginners by simsind: 7:53pm On Aug 20, 2008
Thanks for that line spben
i promise to take you guys as far as i can

so,
If you see in what i said earlier that i will be taking you guys through the use of dreamweaver, php, and mysql as the database

LECTURE ONE

Dreamweaver is a user friendly interface which has both the code and design interface for easy design of web portals
anything placed on the design interface dreamweaver authomatically generate its code on the design interface.

SO WITH THAT I WILL TRY TO ATTACH A DREAMWEAVER SOFTWARE FOR DOWNLOAD WHICH CAN ACTUALL HELP US TO GET ALONG. I WIL STATE THE INTALLATION PROCEDURE TOGETHER WITH SOFTWARE

SO CATCH YA NEXT CLASS!!!!, ONE LUV, !!!

Re: Designing A Website: For Beginners by webrichy: 11:09pm On Aug 29, 2008
bluevoda is quite easy to use. In fact I like it a lot after dreamweaver. add sydneycollins3 to your yahoo list and we can talk better. just indicate who u are.
the only problem with bluevoda is its creates the html files in such a way that u have to host with them (with .bvp extension). but this can be bypassed though with a little extra effort.

@drixie . I saw ur post. I downloaded Bluevoda. It's very interesting using that nice piece of programme, but i did not read that I can not upload to internet with it unless I host with their Vodahost. I have been unable to launch the website since I've already hosted with Helm. Please, do you have an accurate idea on how i can change their file format of .bvd or anyother thing i can do. I have already moved the web to Webeasy prof. program but i love Bluevoda. Please, get back.
