Since the last thread was lost, let me start by posting a timeline of the entire transaction:

April 30 2014: Made enquiries about a 2000 model Nissan Primera on Kakakibuy's thread. (Money wasn't complete at this time)

May 16: I paid the money for the car into Kakakibuy's account.
As at this time, the 2000 Nissan Primera has been sold, but Kakakibuy searched and got me a 2001 model, much better than the 2000 model.
Payment was for the 2001 model.

May 21: Car picked up and handed over to the shipping company in Germany.

May 22: Soft copies of bill of sale and other car documents received in my mail.

May 27: Car confirmed to leave Hamburg on 29th May.

May 31: Contacted Nairaland's Adexfem for vehicle clearing.

June 3: Got soft copy of bill of laden in my mail.

June 9: Mailed softcopy of bill of laden to Adexfem. He even offered to deliver the vehicle to my Lagos address without extra charges.

June 10: Money for clearing paid into Adexfem's account.

June 11: Hard copy of bill of laden and other car documents delivered to Lagos.

June 14: Hard copy of bill of laden delivered to Adexfem.

June 17: Adexfem confirmed arrival of vessel with the car.

June 20: Vehicle delivered to my Lagos address by Adexfem.

The duration of the whole process: 1 month, 4 days after payment.

Drive with care everyday:Do not race your car’s engine during start-up.This is a quick way to add years of wear to your engine, especially if it’s cold outside.

Drive with care everyday:Warming the engine by letting it idle in the driveway is not a smart idea.The engine doesn’t operate at its peak temperature, resulting in incomplete fuel combustion, soot deposits on cylinder walls, oil contamination, and ultimately damaged components.

Drive with care everyday:Put less strain on your engine and automatic transmission by shifting to neutral at red lights. Otherwise, the engine is still working to push the car even while it’s stopped.

Buy gas at reputable service stations: Ask whether the gas you buy is filtered at the pump and if the station has a policy about changing the pump filters regularly. If you get a song and dance, find another gas station. Some stations don’t have pump filters, making you more vulnerable to dirty gasoline. Other stations may not mix alcohol and fuel properly — or worse, water down their product. Find a station you trust and stick to it.
