Help! Car Electrical /electronic Security: Which Do You Suggest by silvoice(m): 10:51am On Jul 04, 2014
Good morning friends. My little nissan sunny 1.4L 1993 model needs a car security dat wil frustrate potential car snatchers: if snatched on Gun point. I'm not talking of expensive ones lik car tracker and d likes. I need a simple but reliable security at a lower cost.
Do u know any? Pls suggest for me and possibly, how it works and its installation cost.

Again is it very easy to dismantle inbuilt steering lock when parked outside in d night by thief? How easy?

The fact that you are driving a "little nissan sunny 1.4L 1993" is security enough.
Anyone crazy enough to snatch that is doing you a favor so you will get something better Amen

Right now robbers wont see that car even if its painted bright yellow.

I guess you now have an idea why no one responded. If you don't those exhaust fumes must have done a permanent damage grin grin

You can install the Watchdog Timer security system. It is the type you must press a hidden button after opening doors before you can start the car. It is fairly cheap.

i guess u are right. But let me tell u dat people snatch cars for different reasons: agbero snatch 2 collect 'matching ground' Robbers: for escape. Boko haram: suicide bombing. Car thieves: for spear parts. Ur friends: for flexing. Ur wife: to prove a point to u, etc.
So I just want something that will make d car un accessible to an unwelcomed driver.

You definitely won't find it funny, but you have a working car have a Naija mechanic work on the electrical system is a really really bad idea.

I know it is your first cars but there are lots of better cars out there for you to be worried about thieves.

Thieves don't steal pink, purple or bright yellow cars because they are so obvious and will be noticed by everyone.

If you are looking for a honest advice dont mess with anything but if you have money to burn please ignore my jokes grin

@sultaan
'you have a working car' - pls esplain

'I know it is your first car' - yes

'If you are looking for a honest advice dont mess with anything' -
esplain this also.

Are u telling me not 2 secure my car because it's a cheap car or is auto-steering lock enough security. 0r is there any other reason why u think that this clean nissan that has cost me N600k, will not be stolen by a criminal if he has an opportunity.
Pls esplain.

Stop throwing tantrums like a lil' kid . . @Sultaan is a very respected here in "Car Talk"
Did you see @Sienna or @Ikenna reply you or @Lomomike or @Gazzuzz (excuse my spelling)
or @Nissparts
They are very respected and won't respond on any gibberish threads like yours.
Telling him you doubt if he even has a car, hahahaha, it's like saying if @Inspired_M even has a car, or Sienna
Their garage go buy you car over and over and over and over; up to a hundred times and over again.
Nigga even offered a prayer that even if it was stolen; its a sign of better tinz to come . . .
You should rephrase your comments . . that you want to prevent unauthorized use of your car from friends n family; not to prevent theft for car snatchers. Even armed robber wey dey escape no go snatch your car, a 1.6L engine, wen be say na Hilux Van or Nissan Patrol dem dey use pursue am. it's fu.ckin slow for a getaway

And don't even start with me . . .
My garage and your garage no dey d same mate

Please let's act like matured people. @ OP, you don't need to get infuriated or offended at some issues or comments because what you're taking as a serious issue or comment might be a light harmless joke or a honest reply shrouded in a light joke. Congratulations on your new Nissan Sunny 1.4L, its a sign of progress and I sincerely hope and pray you move onto newer much better levels in life. That said, I'd suggest you invest in locally made pedal locks for your car ask any good welder to help you fabricate the pedal lock and when he does it, get a good padlock to lock its pedal (I don't know the price so its left to you and your welder to figure out how much its going to cost). This option is quite cheaper than the Watchdog Timer security system or even a tracker/immobilizer system. Hope I've made sense to you?

Lol...It is his opinion sha. But people should know that the worth of any property goes beyond its monetary value alone but its personal value to the owner, besides security systems aren't just for preventing theft but for preventing unauthorized use of your car.

hahaha! Like OBJ, 'i dey laugh ooh!' I no need security again. I go tie red and white cloth to my wiper, a small earthen pot with a feather on d dashboard: 4 thief we dey fear juju. Then my bible and anointing oil behind my gear: 4 christian thief. But if na Boko H. Thief, my guy i wil tel them 2 giv me their registration form, so dat i go do the suicide myself. Because i no go loose my car and police or JTF go come link me with terrorism. Them go come arrest me and my fellow journalists go come show me 4 TV oooh!! Chai...

sorry! It seems you don't understand pidgin english. In anycase. It's a simple joke. If you don't understand the suicide angle, let me esplain: if this devils called Boko Haram snatch ur car in today and use it for suicide bomb an hour later. You will be linked to d crime as d owner of d car.
No insulting word in that post, ok?
