Impatient child
I know your cold fingers burn
to extinguish the sun sunk low
in your muddy eyes
where the soul writhes blindly in torment
but

before you don the grim cloak
scythe chaser
listen to

sibilant saplings suckle sunlight
in the field of Hope

where green blades threaten Autumn's breast
think
does the sky fold in grief
when the captive bird
bends its beak
upon sprung walls?

the misfit gown of impatient wraiths
before you
flap sadly
who rue their haste

and crave company
in the monotony of death
they call softly

dare heed the trap?

so sag the noose
darkly dangling
and there!
hang your fears
patient child.

I see the sad spirit of Funsho Williams who committed suicide by joining politics.

Fate has moulded a sad spirit!

I'm Nuel and I enjoyed the poem coz it gave me yet anotha reason to weep for my people. Hope u do get to read this coz I can see my comment is late.
