Imagine your 3yr old daughter, Niece, Grand niece or probably a neighbour's cute lil girl. U most definitely know how angelic, funny & smart they are. Every woman's dream is a replica/carbon copy daughter to look at daily with joy, loved filled eyes & also hold, protect and cherish. Now my point: Soffiyah Morounkola is an adorable bunny just like every 3yr old, she was celebrated from her birth\=D/ but in just her 3rd year, she has been diagnosed with a brain tumor@ d UCH Ibadan. Pls,help save our girl child and put a smile back on her parent's face. If every nairalander(registered or not) pays N50(fifty naira) into this account, they would have more than enough for the operation and her education. I think AIT did this years back when they were financially down, so all those claimin I dont have, if it is only 1k, it is something. |

Thought we have a unit in nairaland that normally undertake charitable causes like this. I strongly suggest they come in, like in the case of folake. Let them follow the same proceedings, make everything transparent so we can be carried along. They should do follow up, brief us occasionally on how much is left to prosecute the operation. This will ginger some of us to contribute meaningfully, instead of just giving anything you have blindly into that account. |

I'm currently a youth corps member (rounding up my service here in lagos) am into care-giving (and would want to have a charity org. in future) and I've been doing this 'locally' for few years now. So one time, I was on my way back from a fitness centre where I had gone to workout, coming back, I decided to take a bus, it was only the driver inside as it was a sanitation Saturday. On entering, he told me it's 50 naira and I pleaded with him i only had 30 naira and a thousand naira note. This man just angrily shouted at me to get down! I did and I was like "God, just because of 20 naira?!" I just kept walking and thought that they was no reason doing any charitable work anymore as there is no good in these 'humans' I care about. On monday (two days later) my dad called and told me someone called to state my NYSC ID card was missing ( my dad's number was on it in case of an emergency) and he gave me this person's number. I had no idea this ID was missing 'cos i've not had the need to use it. I called the number and decided to meet this person, on getting there, this man gave me back my missing ID and when I asked him where he found it, he told me it was on his vehicle seat. It was that man who was rude to me! He was a good person afterall, a good citizen, he was probably angry at that time and transferred the negative energy to me (as some people would say) he had saved me from the much stress of getting a new one. I once again believed that there's good in humanity and in helping others. So @kevoh, @egoPersonified , everybody, let's do this and help this child. Let's pay in at least 1,000. naira each. When we do this, lets each take a picture with/of the teller and post it on here just like #bringbackourgirls campaign to motivate others out there. My fellow youth corps member nationwide, c'mon! we can do this! , @OP, for the obvious reason, you have to give us financial and medical update with pictures. I pray this turns out a success story. This breaks my heart. A 3 year old kid? My thoughts are with you and your family at this period. I know how you feel, after all, only just under 2 months I lost my fiancee, my friend, my lover, my mother, my father, the best girl I have ever met to a brain tumor. The surgery was successful, the tumor was not cancerous and with little chance of a regrowth but the doctors at luth killed her ( they admitted their own mistake ) hence you effort to go to India is a nooble one. I have faith in Nigeria in everything ( some call it blind faith ) but not when it comes to issues as life threatening as this. Expecting a small donation from me. |
