In May, we reported a possible launch of Samsung’s first Tizen smartphone in Russia. The purported launch has hit a brick-wall, following recent reports from Russia.

Samsung ought to launch the smartphone at an event on Thursday, but the company failed to fulfil its promises, leaving the future of Tizen in total disaster.

In January, Samsung said it was launching its first Tizen phone in Japan, that launch never happened as the Tizen phone was nowhere near completion.

Samsung, however did not provide any concrete date for the rollout of the commercial version of the phone at the developer summit held in Russia, but said in a statement Thursday that “the smartphone will appear on the Russian market later, when we can offer our users a fullest portfolio of applications”.
