Young, smart and alert
Robinhood of my days
growing fast and swift like Arthur
vultures mocked at my dreams
hovering awaiting the young fall
time flew, fast it flew
though, slower than a jet
i find myself contemplating
making money or being a hero
money,wud pay others to be hero
suddenly a wind of change
my legs refuse to hold me up
as my body froze gradually
struggling the young goes down
and i see the vultures hover
around
so much but from one direction

i see an angel
covered in white with a dark hair
now i see the face

for i wasnt tired

we gathered as the sunset
ate,laugh,played boys and girls
listening to elders jokes
"whose bride price wud be higher"
they laugh

we watched Aminat become a
woman
as we see the rising fear of night
in Jumai

as she smile in releif
here the morning comes
with it came no love
as we weep for our girls
they were taken while we were
asleep
before now,we sleep like kids
but nomore,a new dawn has come
with the wind of fear
and our girls yet to be found
men,women,boys and the old
