Am just wondering the mode of communication between players and the referee. The ref might be from italy but the player he is warning or talking with is a german like the case in the worldcup final. Which language do they use for better understanding of themselves?

It reminds me of American who think English should be the universal language given that even God wrote the bible in English.

Referees attend language classes just as footballers,so before A ref is picked for a particular game he must understand both languAges.

It's an international match so all the three
Parties should be able to speak one language
And since it's a fifa licenced match the language
Should be English.

So in order word, are you indicating that language is a pre-requisite to participate in FIFA world cup if the 3 parties on the field have to speak the same language?
