Dramadiddy: I know what rhythm means, if he was a drummer it would have been more clear...according to cbrass, what you're looking for is vamping styles right?

He is still an intermediate from the way he metioned that word "rhymes" but Karleb I will advice that you don't learn instrument by trying to practice stuffs done by those guys, first of all learn the basics, it will even be good if you know how to read music notes, it will help you alot

Dramadiddy: Bro please share some good jazz tunes you listen to
I listen to gospel Jazz works by Phil Driscrol (cos am also a trumpeter and that's my major instrument) I love Luis Amstrong too then I top it with Wilson Marsalis. Those are the three jazz guys I don't joke with. I also play classical works too

Well karleb, you can create your own vamping style(rhythm) by yourself! smiley...all you need is pay attention to what your drummer is playing and find what fits in well to it and isn't noisy...you can start with songs played on a 4/4, before moving to other time signatures because, what works for 4/4 might not fit into a 3/4,6/8,5/4 and the rest..goodluck bro

Why Island? Do you prefer that place to the mainland?

Join the instrumentalist on facebook. Nairaland is poor in music. You will definitely see some one that will hire you

Hello....as a beginner, what you need to know is that the key to getting better is practice, keep practicing a particular bass line until u get it...you will surely get it...although u don't need to play bass lines, esp when a bass player is around...but it still helps to learn bass lines if no bass player is around... Cheers!

Alright guys, to the ones that haven't slept yet, you can use this to sleep...to the ones that have slept, it will be a good gift for the unfolding day... I'm a minorish guy when it comes to piano..its all about personality...i love things that sound wicked and sad and all...I love the feel...I no be vampire ooo...Just wanted to share a 7-3-6 progression I learnt...I'll do it on the simple key of Cmajor and it goes thus :
7- B Gb A// A D Gb A(Bmin7)
3- E B D// D Ab B(Edom7)
6- A E G// E A D(Amin7)

Feel free to ask questions about it...I'll back it up with theoretical answers

Wow! A thirteenth chord for makossa...that sounds kinda heavy for a makossa, 13ths fit in well into those neosoul stuff na, hmmm but u must b veery sophisticated o!...to dey use 13th for makossa *doffs hat*

it's a new skill I developed cos of that guy that copies all my basslines. And by the way when I play macossa I sometimes leave the transpose at -12 for anykey just to make the notes thick and not easily heard but the feel would be good and killing. Trust me!
