Was Christ In Support Of Jihad? by Nobody: 7:23pm On Jul 17, 2014
I was having a conversation with some group of men yesterday. Some of them were christian religious fanatics, church workers, lapse church workers, et al. They were complaining about Islam being a religion of violence and I asked one question "Do you think Jesus Christ didn't support Jihad?" They started shouting at me. Calling me various names, some of the names were really annoying but I sat there, amused at what they were saying.
A man calmed down, trying to wrap his head over what I said, he asked me, "can you give me a bible reference to that?". Being a gentleman, I laughed and said "one of you should read out Luke 19 vs 27. Read it loud and see what Christ said there."
NB: I know some of you will open that bible verse and see its content. But after reading it, try and understand it before taking useless actions. The bible is more spiritual than the words you see.

Kill Followers of Other
Religions
"If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or
you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any
other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to
the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to
spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay
him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death,
because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought
you out of the land of Egypt, that place of
slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as
this in your midst." (Deuteronomy 13:7-12

Luke 19:11-27 talks about the Parable of the Gold Coins. Verse 27 says, "Now, as for those enemies of mine who did not want me to be their king, bring them here and kill them in my presence!"

The above statement was NOT made by Jesus Christ. It was made by a king in the parable with regard to disloyal countrymen. Jesus was only telling the parable.

SINCE THIS IS A PARABLE, I BET IT LIKELY WILL HAVE CONTROVERSIAL INTERPRETATIONS.

It is possible to interpret the passage to mean the ultimate destruction of unbelievers who do not accept GOD's Gift of Salvation in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 37:38 [NIV];
But all sinners will be destroyed; there will be no future for the wicked.

Philippians 3:18-19 [NIV];
For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things.

Jesus is in no way calling Christians to fight unbelievers. Instead He instructs Christians to walk away and not force their words on the unbelievers. Matthew 10:14 [NLT] is clear: "If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message, shake its dust from your feet as you leave." Jesus will never support a jihad against unbelievers. Never! In Luke 6:27 [NIV] Jesus says "But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,"
