What I'm going to type below are entirely my opinion and nothing but,but please read with open mind and think with me.

Humans are social creatures. Someone has to lead, others have to follow. Now its the US. Pre ww2, it was Germany. Before that it was Prussia, Austro-Hungarians before that, Napoleon's French before that, Renaissance Italy before that, Islam ruled the world including europe before the Renaissance and so on. Someone had to lead, while others followed.

The EU is made of 28countries who have to agree unanimously for any decision to be taken. 5 friends would never agree on the same issue talk less of 28countries with different cultures. This makes the EU very cumbersome. Germany, could be world power again but after their Nazi era, they are scared of being intoxicated by power again.

These leaves me with The Eastern Alternative; Russia and China. I am a proud Yoruba Man, and I know that freedom is deeply entrenched in my culture. The king has the final say, but the community's opinion is taken into account. I know the ibos to be very outspoken and rarely subject to any man, which is the genesis of most igbo tenants' issues with their various landlords in the West. Do I need to talk about our Izon brodas who are fiercely outspoken or the ancient civilization of Bini. I don't knw much about the North but I know in the South, we cherish our Liberties. My point is...

Russia and China run an almost autocratic govt where what one person (as is Russia) or one institution (as is the ruling party of China) says goes and become law. Yes, they both have the charade of legislature but this is eye-service to please their western partners. They have heavy internet censor and almost no freedom of speech. Ramadan was banned in China. All dissenters in Russia are either behind bars or have fled. Think back to Abacha.

I do not fault the anti-US sentiments. The US has excesses, but I also know that Thin Liberty they say is better than fat slavery. Should the US fall as world power, these are the candidates for take over. Shebi US has never encroached on another man's land for annexation. Ask Ukraine what's its suffering from Russia. Ask Japan and Korea what China is doing to them. US appears to me to be the lesser of the two evils (US as against China/Russia). I say "Be very careful what you wish for"

Your informed Opinion is very welcome, let's discuss

I concur with you. Despite thier shortcomings, they and u.k are still the best option that are keeping the world in relative peace. Else the mad north korea will nuke s.korea, and iran will attack isreal. Then we can appreciate relative peace.
