I think there's only 50/50 percent chance of then getting a child with a sickle cell genotype but if they love each other so much and are willing to take the chance/risk then i wish them all the love in the world.

Firstly this topic belongs in the Health Forum (That doesnt mean i wont put down my own opinion though). Secondly, my opinion, lol. Love is blind and not foolish. Although not an easy case to just leave someone you're in love with because you find out that both of you have AS genotype, let the children be thought about also. It is not a 50/50 percent chance but a 1 in 4 chances that the child would be SS. Most people are luckly, most people arent. Some couples end up living miserable lives because of the death of the their SS children (which could have been avoided most of the time). For the ones that are already in love, its hard i wont lie, its only God that can advice or direct them. For the ones that are not yet involved in any AS AS relationship, pls if not for urself think about your children. In and out of the hospitals, stress, then more than likely death of the child. That shouldnt be any ones portion.
