Got a call from my sister and my friend about the salt thing, i quickly rebuked it and warned my wife never to try it with my kids. My friend even added limestone to his own recipie. I told him its not proven that the solution works. Now am looking for a nickname for this guy that ll make him never fall prey to rumour(s).

The only people that need to be blamed here are those that acted on the rumour. You're actually wrong. Salt and water do not just chemically react. The salt dissolves in water and it becomes a salt solution. AKA NaCl solution.
