Dear sir,

This is an advice on revenue generating formular, everybody in Lagos will testify that the traffic problem in Lagos is so terrible, workers get home late, students lateness to school due to traffic jam, business dissapointments due to traffic jam, disturbance of police response to distress call due to traffic jam, even death keep calling because of traffic jam when amblulance are held up in traffic jam when carrying sick or injured person. Something must be done done to stop or reduce the problem of traffic jam!!!.

Sir, try and start the creation of public park and private parks, for the first time you will be the governor to start it, and it will creat employment at the same time generate revenue for the state, the state government could earn up to A Billion Naira monthly throughout the state, touts are eating fat to the detirement of the government.

SIR, IT HIGH TIME WE HAVE WELL CONSTRUCTED PUBLIC AND PRIVATE PARKS.

GOD WILL BLESS YOU SIR.

OK, let me explain, look at all Danfos, Molues,Okadas are they not on the road loading goods and perssengers, with that simple style there will traffic jam. Then look at the situation whereby all Danfo, Molue, Okada have parks, I think the road will be partially free if not free completely. Look at weekends party, most the venue does not have parks and all these are contributing to road congestion. Even at market places, there is no park for customers or buyers. I don't mean amusement parks, its all about car parks. If you wan to go to Lagos and you leave your home with your car because of the area and location is far from the major road, you may park the car at any car park that is closer to the BRT bus, and come back later to go home with your car. I think it will reduce the traffic jam.

Thanks for your own view too, appreciated!

?? What has creating parks got to do with the traffic situation and how is that going to curb it? Do people hang out on the road side for recreation due to lack of parks? Sorry, might have misunderstood what you were trying to say, not quite clear. The traffic situation, isn't this due to road works that are being carried out all over the place which when completed will hopefully alleviate the situation? If this is the case then it seems a necessary evil. Lagos does need a serious decongesting of its roads and one way to achieve this was the BRT scheme. If this is expanded and new modes of transport introduced like using of the water ways and rail then things will ease up. This is vital and i believe such things have already been looked into, it is meant to be one of the most populated cities in the world afterall.

Sky Blue, i so much agree with you, however, i think the poster was mixing things together, he was talking about traffic and at same time talking about how to generate more revenue, and having public parks where people will pay to get in and use for family function and all, so he has a good and great idea.
I am sure that the water way and rail transportation will ease the road congestion so much and that will make lagos a great place to be and do bus and with electricity fixed, so many coys around the world will move their buz to lagos, cos labour is cheaper and pple are technically inclined there.

The writer of the post is very clear. It means a park and ride system as it used in all other countries in the world. You park your car in a public parking lot, which you pay a fee for and ride to work and on the way back, pick your car. These lots will be located outside the city where people come from. It saves costs for the rider and will generate revenue for the govt. Simple.

I think there is a point there. Most party spaces built around my area lack parking space and I think the government should look into this it increases traffic during weekends, basically another reason for traffic in lagos is that everyone wants to own a car and this is killing Lagos. The Governor is working and we should smile soon

Brilliant idea, @Poster thanks for your post, I believe Lagos state government is already building some parking space within the town now and this will go a long way.
