OKAY, here we go, are you tired of that tecno or Opsson startup tone, or you just wanna have a feel of new one.

Then here's the tutorial.


MUST BE ROOTED

NOTE : make sure you have a backup if your droid and rom



Anything can happen, although it's probability is very low.



Apps you need;


mp3 cutter



root explorer



Okay then.

Open MP3 cutter, select the audio you want, took trim it to preferably the length of ur start up tone.... .Opsson is 6seconds. I donno of tecno or gionee users.



To know yours open root explorer, scroll to system/etc/media you will see (based on Opsson own) shutaudio.MP3 and bootaudio.mp3, play them noting the time it would take.




After trimming your preferred startup and shutdown tone, you should see it in your sdcard/media/ringtones rename both to startaudio.mp3 and shutaudio.mp3



Open your root explorer, systems/etc/media delete or move the two there by holding and selecting either. Go back to the root using your explorer, sdcard/media/ringtones copy your startup and shutdown tones. Paste them in systems/etc/media.




Restart your droid to test.

Yes, it shudnt..
I changed mine, although with fear, buh I can tell you authoritatively that you should go ahead.



But you know droids are crazy, that's why I said make sure you have a back up.



But probability of it happening is less than 10%

Sure I understand ...I use a Nokia XL and man the start-up tone is just like the typical Chinese phone ...well its made in China Will give it a try though, I just recovered from a soft brick changing stuff on the build.prop got it back on same Friday night it was fun

Just did now and all went well hehehe ....saved me that to loud trashy tone. Will try changing the tone to something more like it. Thanks dearie and lovely new week ahead ...
