India successfully launches the unmanned Chandrayaan 1 spacecraft - the country's first mission to the Moon, while our great country Nigeria is still sleeping. The earlier our leaders realized that HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT is the pillar of any major significant development, the better.

Just keep your fingers crossed because in a short while PAKISTAN will launch theirs too. Their rivalry will never end

India has joined an elite class that even Britain does not belong to. This is definitely a wake-up call to the rest of the world.

@ Ibime

You are correct Bro. Its a wake-up call for our African leaders most especially the giant of Africa like Nigeria

Africa seems not to be creating impact in world affairs
Re: India Lunches It First Moon Mission !(Picture attached) by SkyBlue1: 1:31pm On Oct 22, 2008
Oh please, if being developed means sending rockets to the moon then i will gladly prefer Nigeria to be underdeveloped and concentrate on things like working infrastructure, education, an effective law enforcement agency, creating employment and diversifying the economy, constant power supply, etc. Funny enough Nigeria actually has a space programme, the irony.
Re: India Lunches It First Moon Mission !(Picture attached) by bawomolo(m): 4:45pm On Oct 22, 2008
of course we have a space program, our babalawo's and witches have regular meetings on the moon. stupid europeans wasting money on research. pakistan is cash strapped, the last thing on her mind is a space program.

India is wasting it's money on irrelevant stuff. They should face the famine and severe hunger torturing their citizens than space technology. They should remember the US economy is ailing and no more US IT jobs will be shipped there in the near future.

You may consider the launch of Indian Satelite as a waste of money. Indians have utilized their God-giving human resources to achieve this breakthrough and even if the world should end today, it will definitely be recorded in the history of this world.
History will remember Africa or Nigeria as what? We are mere appendage in this world and have not created any impact in any world affair.
l just hope our leaders will wake up to thier responsibilities before its too late

IMAGINE THIS!

African Leaders At The UN summit.

NO WONDER THE INFLATION RATE IN ZIMBABWE IS 2.5 MILLION %

When they were deliberating on energy and power, they were sleeping.

When they were deliberating on economic development, they were sleeping.
When they deliberated on food security, they were asleep.
When they fixed interest rate on debtor's (African) loans, they were asleep.
When they deliberated on conflict resolution through dialogue they were already snoring.
They only woke up, to support motion for adjournment and signed the communiqué.

Of course!, they need rest, they worked tirelessly back home clamping down their opponents and critics.

They Spent the night strategizing on the next move to subdue their opponents.

Back home airports were closed 2hrs before their arrival, motor-ways were blocked 1hr ahead, Armed Policemen stood guard 8hrs before arrival. Rented crowd clamoured under sun to cheer them up, WHAT HAVE THEY BROUGHT HOME?

Hey bro.
Your write-up and subsequent attachment drips brilliance.
Africa and Nigeria especially has on our neck bad leaders and a people who when they react takes it to extremes "cos" the leaders don't understand simple dialogue.
Am not giving up on Nigeria but the no real progress situation is real mind tiring.
As for the rest of you who are against India's technological drive: don't forget that they are a nuclear power and that, my friends is very important,no jack can call them sitting ducks now.
Technological awaking is the beginning of real progress in any nation that want the future to be very good for her citizens.
As for the food shortages the same technocrats will soon make it a thing of the past.
With technology,everything is possible! smiley

wake up call in a country where most of the inhabitants live on less than 10 dollar day, no wonder the western world have given us the tag"third world"
any sensible person will feed their citizens and give them good healthcare, education, welfare rather than projects which have no appreciable benefits for the common man, even if the british dont have similar programme,at least they have one of the best welfare packages in the world, lets pray for our third world leaders for a "first world"brain and proper arrangement of priorities

Re: India Lunches It First Moon Mission !(Picture attached) by thehomer: 1:21am On Nov 04, 2008
That is money well spent. This tells you that India is ready for any level of business low tech, high tech whatever. This space launch also tells you that the good brains in India are at least working hard.
