Indication has emerged that Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State is set to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to competent sources, Mimiko, who is the National leader of the Labour Party (LP) was said to have met five leaders of LP, each from the 18 local government areas of the state on the need to join the PDP.
The sources added that Mimiko is currently holding meeting with his political aides, today Friday, particularly with his commissioners.
Mimiko was appointed as the State Secretary to the Government (SSG) by the late Governor Olusegun Agagu and he was later appointed as Minister.
He dumped the party for the LP in 2006 to contest the governorship seat against Agagu, who was PDP candidate in 2007 general elections.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) under the leadership of Prof. Maurice Iwu declared late Agagu as the winner of the poll but Mimiko, who was not satisfied with the result approached the tribunal, where he was declared the winner of the election.
It will be recalled that DailyPost, few months ago, reported that the Presidency has directed Mimiko to declare for PDPbefore Jonathan declares his interest to contest the presidential election.

As far as i knw, mimiko has been under umbrella and a pdp member since time immemorial. He's trying to confirm to us that pdp is the bridegroom and LP is the bride; they're married.

Mimiko has always been a staunch PDP member, he only use the LP platform to actualize his dreams of becoming the state governor which he has achieved twice. I always say it politicians either PDP,APC,LP,APGA etc are birds of the same feathers. In politics there is no permanent friend/enemy there is only a permanent interest. Let us wait and see if what is happening to PDP governors that decamped to APC will happen to Mimiko having defected from LP to the ruling party. FP things mod

Adamu Mu'azu at work. I started having this notion of Mimiko decapming to PDP when during the flag-off of the distribution of MSME funds he showered praises on GEJ and stated clearly that GEJ is the man for 2015. I knew then he had been bitten by the PDP bug.

labour party problem is the national chairman, who is support Jonathan in the open.. And everybody know that.. How can someone be in labour and be supporting PDP at the same time..



And I dont think having someone from the east as labour party chairman is good. It is wrong. the easterners are not labour friendly people , how can the labour party chairman come from the east. where easterners are not knew to be labour friendly.. and since Jonathan comes from the east.. it was a waste of position to give the labour party chairman position to the east. should come from the middle belt or Western
