The phone is just released I don't think it will be in 9ja anytime soon. Probably before the year runs out we'll see how it looks. I don't think it will be better the iPhone

I just bought the new G1(google phone) for $179 with a two year contract from T-mobile. Loving it all the way. The only major disappointment is the battery life. The internet connectivity is faster than the iphone's but i kind of like the iphone's design better. The Android platform on the G1 is way better than the apple platform on the iphone.

Both the iPhone and he G1 will be on par in terms of internet speed - both on wifi and an 3G. And at this stage all the reviewers unanimously agree that the Android OS still feels like a v1.0, beta software and it's not yet on par wih symbian or even apples Mobile OSX. It's a pity i get in these situations where i can be construed as an iphone fanboy, bu facts are facts.

comparisons have been trashed out even b4 the G1 was released, and nothing has changed. it will take years for the Google phones 2 outclass the iPhone, if it ever happens.

No doubt the iphone is an industry leader but the google phone is a worthy competitor. I've used both phones: the shape and slide pattern of the G1 certainly took away points from it.
But the Android operating system is the biggest point gainer for the G1. It's an open system,anyone can write programs on it. And it is considered more secure than the apples's OSX.
It's also cheap at $179 compared to the iphone's $300.
The graphic accelaration of the G1 also looks better than the iphone's.
It's a matter of choice but the G1 stands a points higher than the iphone in my books.

The G1 is $179 with contract, the iphone is $199. Please always report the right facts

Finally, the iphone has a FAR more powerful graphics capability than the G1, which lacks hardware accelerated 3D.
