Why not. The atheist world view him and his moves as a threat so its normal. But the schools are for his members and others who see value in a christian based education. Its a choice that everyone has and other faiths and denominations enjoy. It is wrong to discriminate against the church, its leaders and its members but it is expected. 1 Like |

Degis: Until the Brits agree that investigating Oyedepo is different from investigating Winners Chapel, Uk, they will keep on making elementary school mistakes. Oyedepo is not a registered trustee of Living Faith Church neither is he a juristic person in relation to Winners Chapel, Uk. All these investigations and assumptions will only lead to the trash can. Well done to the Brits for stoking up debates about the morality of a child beater setting up institutions that cater for children. Us Nigerians are too stuck up in our tooshie to attempt a standing up to - lest we invite the anger of the almighty one upon us for calling out a child beater who did so in the name of the lord. The Brits don't believe in witchcraft and all of that nonsense and neither do they believe that anyone is too important to call to account for their unsociable attitude. The man has two issues. 1. The Winners' church is said to have flouted the country's charity laws. This law monitors how offerings and tithes are utilized. Mind you the bulk of these come from 'state offerings' to people otherwise called welfare benefits. Considering the Queen is the biggest obtainer of them all, our jet setting pastor is against an uphill task (but I am sure it is nothing God cannot handle). 2. Winner's Schools- A body determined to maintain Uk secularity has said there is no place in the UK for Oyedepo's schools because he is a witch catcher. But considering witch catching is not in the curriculum, I think this body stands a very little chance. The least we can do on NL is to join our countryman in prayer. |

What gave the man the audacity to even contemplate raising a hand against the kid in the first place? The arrogance that he can do it and that he will get away with it? The view that the girl is a nobody and can be trampled under his foot without any consequences? Slapping your kid in the UK can send you to a police cell, can permanently taint your records negatively and can cost you a lot in the future eventually. I bet he wouldn't have done that if it was the President's kid and he probably regrets doing that by now but then its something that he'll have to live it for life. Here in the UK , different rules apply , people are led by common sense not nonsense sense. Everyone is equal before the Law. So here is what Oyedopo and his school can expect : 1. Admission will be open to all people irrespective of religion, race, background or financial status. Therefore to prevent Muslims/Hindus/atheists from coming to your school or raising the fees so high that the common man cannot afford it will be seen as discrimination. 2. Ofsted will keep a very close eye on not just the academic performance but most importantly the entire well being of the child. There will be independent officers who will interview students and parents to find out if anything strange is going on. 3. Beating a child becomes a police case immediately. 4. Disgracing a child by slapping him/her and verbally humiliating him/her will not only take you to jail, there will be huge demonstrations to close down the school. 5. If you do not adhere to the government rules and guidelines , expect no funding. 6. Independent auditors will review your accounts annually to ensure that no fraud is taking place. Considering the nature of this church and the prevailing mindset, it will be a miracle if it stays open for more then 5 years assuming they get the go ahead to open this September. 13 Likes 1 Share |

I was at that Shiloh when he slapped the witch,she claimed to be a witch for Jesus,today she is free from the hold of witchcraft worshipping Jesus as her Lord and personal saviour.Oyedepo has a temperament which is known to most members of LFC especially to CU students,they dread him as mice dread the cats,was he wrong in slapping the witch,yes and no,I'd slap her too if I were him,that's is pure blasphemy,making a pure mockery of God right in front of the congregation,Jesus did whip the buying and selling out of his temple I was in service the day he said $150m is less than the money he gives his kids as wedding gifts.The man ranks in billions,no one can estimate his worth.That's his own personal wealth not the church's combined. 1 Like |
