Army Reviews Maiduguri Curfew Amid Rising Terror by felzylix(m): 7:31am On Sep 02, 2014
The army has reviewed the curfew imposed
on Maiduguri, the capital of troubled Borno State.
The Deputy Director of Army Public Relations,
Colonel Sani Usman, said the curfew hours on the
town was now 7pm to 6am.
The curfew formerly on the town was from 9pm to
6am daily and the additional two hours was handed
down due to the deteriorating security situation in
the state, especially following explosions in attacks
on some towns with flags of the insurgency group
hoisted and declaration of caliphate.
"All must comply with the directive and that anyone
found flouting this directive will be arrested and
prosecuted," Usman said.
Borno is one of three states under emergency rule
following incidents of terrorism over the months.
Adamawa and Yobe are also under such rule.
Thousands have died in the states and the rest of the
country owing to terror blamed on the Boko Haram
sect. - CAJ News
