This goes on in Europe also when african men 'import' wives from back home, they are forced to work all the hours god sent and are always under orders from their masters/husbands so whats the difference? Poor girl I'm so happy for her! |

Leilah there is a difference. Those women only have to pick up the phone and call the police. If they choose to stay that's their wahala. Heaven helps those who help themselves |

Leilah: What about what Asian and Eastern European women have to endure when they come as packaged wives for Europeans. I guess you'll have nothing to say to say about them. If you have such a terrible opinion of Nigerian ways and Nigerian men, no one is forcing you to stay in anything so you can scram |

i am happy for her but I am bit confused by this part - I quote "I was beaten so many times I would run to my family," she told the BBC's World Today programme. "Then after a day or two I would be brought back. am i reading this correctly, that her family sold her into slavery? If so, why they didn't charge her family? and why couldn't she run to the neighbours?. . . . . .well I guess she was young and scared |

Why is it that when somebody makes a reference to something that obviously happens in Nigeria/Africa, nairalanders think you're 'bashing' Nigerians?? pheww. Abeg, slavery is everywhere. Remove the in your own Not coming at the poster. just some people who know themselves. Just because something is common still doesn't make it right. |

chiogo: The poster said Niger(that's a country). Not Nigeria. I think your mistaking Naija for Niger. |

IFeoma:No, hon. I wasn't mixing 'em up. I was just giving an example by using Nigeria. Besides my comment wasn't directed at the poster. |
