In as much as we acknowledge the Gallant sacrifices of our Soldiers on the Front Line, but when will our Leaders have an iota of Sense in them.
They just recruited less than 1000 people & sold 1million forms last three months, now they are recruiting again.
Why cant they borrow a leaf from Civilized Countries who dont ask its Citizens for fees b4 recruitment into armed forces. During the 54th regular intake, we paid if i should remember 1500, so its callousness & sheer Stupidity on the Part of the relevant Govt Authorities. When real men wanted to join d NA, Man know man & God Fatherism ruled & has kept ruling so why wont there be deserters.

Where is the Report for the Failed immigration Recruitment. I believe dat since Immigration Police is part of CTOIN, adding personnel from there could have boosted the Force in Nos.

Why should there be an age Limit as it Glaring to all & Sundry that we lack Manpower.
My advice to our Failed Govt is:
If you are not after our money dat we dont have, Recruit men Free of Charge!!
Extend the age Limit to 28- 30 years. With dis many determined youths will know that d Recruitment will be free & Fair

From a concerned Citizen

this country is a joke .. Some big man at the helm of affairs would tell his boys to start a recruitment exercise and before you know it , he has one billion naira in his account .
I pity for the youths of this country , there is no future .

Nigerian Military lacks Yoruba men. They should forcefully conscript young yoruba men between the ages of 18-35. They are idle all over Lagos doing nothing but area father! Start with Musiwa and Kalvan on Nairaland.

I guess its all true , that's the 25th time the word God father appeared in comments and i havent read all, As you rightly said unless there's a God father he can't continue studying , I do not think Nigerian Army allows or sponsors your education in Military , Unlike US army

US army , there's no age limit , and US army, you are inspired to join , people don't buy forms i see buying anything as revenue generation for the concerned party ,

Chidexter: day one na wash. after writing 77ri exam which consisted of primary school questions I couldn't find my name in the final list of successful candidates, the same applies to thousands of us that wrote the exam they picked just 180 who would undergo d screening, this clearly shows the system is flawed. on the day the names were to b called 95 percent didn't hear their names, which led to some candidates agreeing to pay 100,000 naira each just to partake in the screening exercise. Imagine paying thousands for ones death
dat means dey luv their country die

Nigeria is so corrupt that it is affecting their arm forces even the army. Sacrificing your life for your country don't have to be monetised, but in 9ja everything na money.........That is the more reason 9ja army recruits soldiers that abandon their post at war fronts. 9ja army and police, as of now I don't know among the two who is more corrupt. I usually think it's the police, but I am having second thought about it.

All these godfather talks are been over-flogged.
They sold forms and didn't beg anybody to buy, 25k people bought the forms while they needed just 100 people, please how do you want them to take the 100 people from the 25k that you people won't say it smelled of godfatherism?
It is obvious that people who didn't make it will say those who made it did through godfathers but its not always so. That you are good, mean others could be better, that you are better mean other could be best, that you are best mean others could be extraordinary.
The main thing is that 100 people must be taken from the 25k people, I'm not saying that 'man-know-man' doesn't exist but not as people hype it. Every little thing now, people shout its godfather! If you aren't taken then it means everything is 'man-know-man'...

@Fgjobs, it seems you are close to these Barbarians, can you explain the rationale behind selling millions of Forms just last three months, recruiting less than a thousand. Then coming again by September Floating another recruitment
What do you mean by more qualified, mere SSCE, how many graduates are roaming about d streets unemployed , they applied with their SSCE, some OND, yet Screened out & here you are trying to Justify a Govt that is busy touring Africa with Boko Haram sponsors.
Re: Nigerian Army 72 Regular Recruit Intake For 2014/2015 Out. by FGjobs(m): 2:47pm On Sep 09, 2014
I'm not trying to justify them and don't really know their reasons for starting another sales if not to say they need more men.

Remember we take the quota system in Nigeria very serious, it also plays a role in dropping the more qualified...

As for the godfather stuff, really don't know how its done, although I know it happens but its not as widespread as people think...

For the charge, its either to discourage people or they are using a consultant, whom they need to pay. Sometimes the cost of the recruitment process isn't considered in their budgets as the FG expected them to do it themselves but where the personnels are busy with other things, its likely they will engage a consultant.

If you have the passion for the job, just apply, do your best and leave the rest for God. If He wants you their, He will surely put u, even if it means getting for u a godfather...

@FGjobs,
Am an old man now far above youth age. I applied in the 54th Regular around early 2000, it was Pathetic cos some us were dropped at Military Police Barracks in Kaduna For no just cause even when my State was short of men after questions like who do you know in the Army was asked.
The Scenerio is still repeated till tomoro. It is a Battle of the Wits.
What do you have to say about d past Immigration exercise that people died, No news, innocent lives & money wasted.
i can categorically tell you from insider sources that People are taking up appointment letters & resuming in FG parastatals like Immigration.
What do we call that GodMotherism

Atleast the 1000 naira would be used to purchase a grenade in addition to the AK 47 and 1 bullet our gallant soldiers have.
